Something like that. I think. :)

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the / either, I checked a couple of sites though and they both had it, so I just nicked it :P

having the / would be xhtml - normal html would end in > then have a </img>

dont even need the </img> or width and length.

so should read:

<img src="image.jpg" alt="text in yellow box">

If you want your html to be w3c standard html and be viewable in some odd browsers too, it's recommend you put the </img>

It's good practice to put a trailing slash on a tag which doesn't have a respective closing tag.

So you'd do it for an image tag or line break, for example, but not for an 'a' tag (which has a closing tag).

HTML is a very simple language, you wanna try reading some Java or C++ programming.

by the way, are you gonna submit your site soon, what is it about?

I have submitted it and it's all about Johnny Knoxville.
I made a post about it ages ago but no-one paid any attention to it. It just turned into another argument that had nothing to do with the original post.
Hmm, sounds familiar!!!
Anyway, if you want to visit it go to:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/shortfamily

& if you want to revisit it for any particular reason, I've put it as part of my profile so you can find it there.

Ok - Thanks everyone for the picture help. I've tested it on one of the pictures and it works by just putting

alt="WHAT I WANT TO APPEAR"

because all the other stuff is already in there as I did not create it using HTML but can still access it using FrontPage!!!
However, I have over 100 pictures to do so they won't be on the site for a while yet.
:D :lol: :D
