Is there a more pointless sporting event than the Commonwealth Games? I used to think it was worth it so we won a few more medals when the US, Germans an Russians werent in but usually we still get beat by canada, australia, jamaica, kenya......... everyone really.

Gaspode the commonwealth games are massive and up there in the most watched sporting events in the world

its only considered pointless cause there is no Americans involved which is poor..im very much looking forward to it

I could not give a monkeys about it. The only reason I know about it is cos Norris in Coronation Street keeps banging on about it.

yes lets have a games full of dull sports only usually watched at the olympics (which DO have importance) and use it to remember how once we controlled all these countries. oh yes an then generally ditched them when we had had enough or they hated us.

Gaspode there was a program like that on ITV many many years ago which the Yorkshire cricket legend Fred Trueman presented which featured pub sports and daft games and the over year Baddiel and skinner ripped it to death on Fantasy football
