Moyles claims he'd be better morning DJ than Cox
Chris Moyles claims he could de a better job than Sara Cox on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
The afternoon show presenter also joked that no-one is listening to Sara's show anymore.
Moyles starts his daily TV show on Channel 5 on September 23.
In an interview with Heat magazine, he said: "I do think that I could do a better job. I could absolutely kick anybody's arse on breakfast, ever."
Moyles says he barely listens to Cox - whose show lost 700,000 adult listeners in a year - and prefers to watch television in the mornings.
"To be honest, if I hear any of Sara in the morning it's at nine o'clock for ten minutes. If I get up before nine o'clock I like to watch RI:SE to amuse myself."
However he admits is not overly keen on taking on the morning show from Cox, who recently signed a new three-year deal.
"Getting up at 4.30 every morning for a little bit more money and more hassle and half a million more listeners - is it worth it?" asked Moyles, who has himself lost around 350,000 listeners in a year according to latest audience figures.
Moyles says he'll have a few last minute nerves before the launch of his new Chris Evans-produced Channel 5 show, Live With Chris Moyles.
"I'm going to be absolutely bricking it before the first one. I'll have to apologise now - the first few minutes will probably be awful."
