Hey,

This week whilse eating my Breakfast i almost choked, when Chris started taking the Mickey out of Westwood,
and his jingles. The stand up jokes were apaulingly bad and the use of jingles had me almost crying with laughter.


Anyone Else find it Funny ???

He's a middle class boy, from a very middle class up bringing, who is one big charicature of himself. I find him hilarious, but I don't think I'm meant to find him hilarious. Just can't take him seriously at all!

If he was meant to be a parody of himself then that would be ok, in the same way Ali G was funny (in my opinion). But what I dislike is that he speaks as if he is a gangsta, but comes from leafy Surbiton (or somewhere similar).

Well i thought i had better check out one of Westwoods shows so i did, and
i must say he must be a good sport to put up with Moyles, however he does "love his jingles".
He also likes shouting alot things like "I AM WESTWOOD TAKING YOU FROM ..." however it was
quite good entertainment.

He is from a leafy Suburb, well i couldnt have Guessed ???

Lowestoft has NO leafy suburbs. It is a horrible, horrible place. Nice beach though.

I'm not a big fan... But I do agree that he tends to be able to take the piss out of himself, and Westwood can be really funny.

Sadly that kind of character just doesn't do it for me, and I know that it shouldn't really bother me, but trying to be "gangsta" when he's middle-aged, middle-class and white just... Well it doesn't quite fit.

Chris' impressions were hilarious, though!

I agree with many of the posts.
Though I'm not a big Westwood listener, I do think he takes the mickey out of himself!

However I think I'm right in saying he is probably one of the more minted radio 1 DJs. He does seem to release a large amount of successful Albums!

I know he does not write the tracks but of course mixes them. Still...

Probably easier to smile and turn the other cheek, when sitting in your latest Hummer! (if you like that kind of thing!)
