The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

so glad to see whiley go, her sell by date was four years ago, also she threw her toys out of the pram after the Noel Gallagher interview and cut short the handover after Noels "Seminal Glastonbury Moments" remarks which i thought was VERY funny. Her interview style is a complete pile of crap, she annoys the * out of me when she keeps cutting to records when guests are being interviewed, i stopped listing to her show four years ago. Rant over.

I liked Edith Bowmans show, I enjoyed the movie chat with James King as I watch a lot of movies, and she had quite a good taste in music. I have only ever listened to Jo Wiley when the signal for talksport was poor between 10 and 1. Not overly excited by the move of Fearne, but I am glad that she is in that 10-1 slot where there is something else I enjoy listening to on rather than 1-4.

The movies aspect to Edith's show was its only saving grace I thought, but there's no reason why Greg can't do that even better, I hope they keep it. The feature was a part of the show, it was never reliant on the talent of the presenter. Good job really.

Only just found this now and OMG it's made my day! :D :D :D :D :D
The only drawback as has already been mentioned is that Fearne is off a lot on her various shows so I can't see that lasting long although things may change. Greg James isn't everyone's cup of tea but I enjoyed listening to him on early breakfast as well as when he's covered for Scott MIlls. The main thing is that Whiley and Bowman won't be infesting the airwaves during the working week. I'm not too bothered about weekends cos I'm either at the match, in bed or out on the lash 8)

That's a redeeming feature of her shows.

True but the issue will be who covers for her.

Jo has the added complication of being 70-odd miles away though (not that I know where Sara Cox lives).

She said yesterday she'd been on holiday. It was Sara who was covering for her that got sick. Then Grimshaw got sick too, which lead to Huw Stephens being on.

I know it was only bradcali but where did the idea Chris and Fearne don't get on come from?? Obviously hasn't been listening long enough to remember the handovers they've already had when Fearne and Reggie did early breakfast. Chris was very flirty (have a podcast of him talking about getting into Fearnes knickers, literally) - which also reminded me........(that and the fact my sisters were watching that ridiculous Angus, Thongs and Snogging film)....

does anyone have Chris's rant when he found out Fearne was seeing Steve Jones? In particular the 'Steve Jones is gay' but? Ironically in the film he appears in, he is gay! Always reminds me of Chris' rant, he sang along to a song, possibly MC Hammer or Ice Cube 'Pray' ?

I'm not sure whether there has ever been anything to it, but the idea that Fearne doesn't like Chris has been around for ages. I think it arose from when Chris used to go on about her a lot in his usual drooly slobbering way, and various sources at the time tended to indicate she wasn't all that happy about some of the things he said. None of that meant that she didn't like him though did it? And he doesn't really do that any more, they seem to have a perfectly happy relationship - there certainly didn't seem to be any problems when they did Kilimanjaro did there?

Urgh, Fearne Cotton on daytime radio? They are really scraping the barrel here, they could at least put a proper 'DJ' on, instead of a TV personality turned radio presenter. I have nothing against her personally, i just dont think she's good on the radio, she should stick to TV. Vernon is the odd one out here, he's actually brilliant on the radio as well as TV.

I would have prefered Sara Cox or Annie Mac to have got the gig, and i think it's great about Greg James moving, the kid has done so well since starting full time.

As for Edith, i haven't warmed to her one bit in the last 5 years, i just dont think she's a good radio presenter at all, she irritates me. I hope Greg makes the whole 'movies' thing more interesting, i find Edith and James the 2 most boring people on Radio 1 when they get together, coupled with the fact i hate being told what's good and what's not (i dont need to be told what films i should and shouldn't see, i'll decide myself thank you), September 21st can't come quick enough.

I'd quite like Annie Mac on daytime as well, but I can't see it happening. I follow her on Twitter, and it always feels like she's lurching between doing amazing gigs at night to hungover mornings where she can't get out of bed. Repeat until fade. I like the Mash Up show too, it's one of the few R1 shows I listen to apart from CMS.
