Considering the lack of competitions on the Beeb these days, I thought the one for the Brits was cracking! Personally, I don't think they should bring them back to the extent they had them before, but decent, well thought out, tense ones make good radio.

It was a brilliant competition and a great, original idea.

I agree that too many can be a bit irritating but having them on the show every once in a while does make a nice change, especially if they're well done.

I think the annoying thing about the restrictions of competitions on the BBC was that Chris never ever fixed a competition during his 12-14 years at Radio 1, yet because a few idiots have done so he unfortunately got lumped in with the "ban", I remember hearing his frustration on air when they were told they couldn't play the "guess the missing word of the song" game because the BBC declared it a competition, even though they were giving away no prizes.

The Brits competition format and execution was brilliant. Well it was in the mornings, I never heard Scott's atempt at it. I particularly enjoyed it when the contestant, being constantly nagged at by Chris to "just sing it through to the chorus" over and over again finally said "Yes I'm trying, but it doesn't help when you keep whispering in my bloody ear!"

It was a really good competition.

To be honest I don't really like on-air competitions and I haven't missed them at all. CPC is kinda different cos it's funny and nothing is at stake. But hearing callers get excited/disappointed/whatever just doesn't do it for me.

Yeh, the girl who said that to Chris was awesome. I loved that quiz. I remember listening hoping that no-body from Scotts show won just so i could play along in the morning. So nerve wracking!
