I'm not fully sure, the thing is Chris has been doing the show in this style for such a long while now, people forget that he used to play lots of music & talk a lot less. For example when editing a 2hr 45mins Afternoon show there's 1hr 30mins of speech (and that included news, trailers & the like) when editing a 3hr 30mins Breakfast show you get 2hr 45mins of speech (and that doesn't always included news, trailers & the like).

I do think that Chris' still likes playing music, but perhaps the style that 6 Music would play (Ash, Shed Seven, New Order, etc.). Hell if Mark & Lard can both go their separate ways and change surely Moyles can fit into a "More music, less talk" format. I'm sure he'll still have the funny links but just with more music like the old afternoon show.

I think that Chris could adapt to it, and to a certain extent wouldn't necessarily have to adapt that much. I mean look at Russell Howard and Jon Richardson, they seemed to adopt the more talk less music approach at times, and in my opinion it still seemed to work for them.
