Now if these rants were brought out on CD I for one would buy it.

I am 'one of those' that have not brought his Parady Album yet .

I think Travis Bickle got a very special mention and the first song diden't get played until just before 7.20 which must be a record! :D Did that one ever actually make into the sound vault becuase from what I remember it was some of the funniest radio I've heard.

Not so funny if you're Travis or me...! He read out my post as well. I have a copy of the rant if it's not in the archive.

I have the clip on my phone and I can only listen up to the bit where he says "and here it is, from Travis Bickle..."

I have listened a few times but always turn it off at that point. It just makes me cringe  I may be sad, but I want to enjoy the fact he mentioned me on air like that, but its not happening at the moment. One day, maybe.

is this why you haven't complained about chris being so late on wednesday it needed 2 cheesy songs and the news? :p

those pesky insiders have been blabbing again.

oh and another gobshite...
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/se ... io-1-curse

see, they're pushing that he's homophobic still, yet they seem to ignore aled a bit, and the fact that the link after the rant was all about his support for the repeal of don't ask don't tell. (although he did say that he could understand why front line troops might get affected by it, which they'd probably use against him)

and yet more (does that line about the laughing count as a positive review? :p)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/se ... nda-sawyer

and finally more. Really you should stop reading after he said "I listened to the rant on youtube" cos it pretty much negates the rest of the article, specifically the very first sentence of the second paragraph.

You should've been paid!

I don't know where you'd stand on that, as the image would probably technically belong to the BBC... but the Mail are notorious for not asking permission to use photos.

Yeah, it's not mine, it's the BBC's. Other papers have used the same image and stuck "(c) BBC" on the image.

Yesterday, listened to the whole thing for the first time since the 26th of May and I just laughed. It was cringe central for me too when I first heard Chris reading it out, but now it's just funny. Granted, he didn't have a (fake) go at me, but still.
What's interesting is that he has really made an effort to get in on time since then, and has only been a few seconds late really -- most recently it was after the whole breakup/pay debacle and has never done the horrendous "Let's do the show from my phone!" bit again, thank goodness.

I think he was reading out the posts in a faux-angry way, and really did take on board the very valid criticism about getting in late -- the time when he was late in Bangor really did take the cake.

Chris starts talking about us at about 6m:00, is reading the board at 12m:10s and again at 23m:45s.

"I HATE COCONUT!"

Ha Ha thankyou I remember this so well. It was so entertaining!

Also I dont know if anyone saw but in the Metro on Friday on Page 48 everyone was insulting Chris on the Letters Page. Dont think it is available online otherwise I would have linked to it.

Can everyone please send abuse to @is_Moyles_mad on Twitter - http://twitter.com/is_Moyles_mad

You must have some serious problem with Chris to set up that twitter page.

That link is worth a look as well. Hopefully Chris has heard it. The people who made this crappy song would be pissed off if they didn't get paid for 2 months. Who cares if he earns a lot of money? He still needs to get paid! He probably gets heavily taxed anyway so probably gets a lot less than everyone thinks as well.

I wouldn't bother sending them abuse, that would just give them more fodder to spout their rubbish, it's better just ignored. Maybe it's the same person who started the 'sack Moyles to save 6 Music' page on facebook.

There was another snide comment piece in the Guardian - same issue as the one I posted the piece from above - by Lucy Mangan, whose writing I normally really like. She compared Chris' lack of pay to his supposed 'homophobia', like a few others have done, as if the two are somehow connected. It's crazy how some people seem to be waiting for any piece of negative news about Chris to surface so they have an opportunity to air their dislike of him. I really have no idea how his not being paid has led to this.
#419329
I'd missed most of this, but to me it seems perfectly reasonable to be upset over a lack of pay! I only work part-time at a bookies, even so if I hadn't been paid for 2 months there's no chance I'd keep going in. Fair play to Chris.
#419331
There seems to be a general feeling amongst the Red Top readers that unless you are a blue collar worker on minimum wage you aren't entitled to be paid. Incomprehensible.

Well there you are, I think they're possibly the best bits of radio I hear each day. Because while clearly angry and clearly making a point, he NEVER becomes embarrassing or incoherent or boring.

And apologies if you've been handed your arse about this already, but that's both irrelevant and moronic. Which is saying something.

see, out of all of those, Max clifford is the most rational and measured.

And that f*ckin says something

After reading all of those opinions on 'What should be done with Chris Moyles?', I get the over-riding impression that none of them like Chris very much, to put it mildly.

Nicholas Lezard, critic, columnist and former radio reviewer (whoever he may be) says

'If it is true that the BBC has been deliberately withholding Moyles's salary, perhaps as a kind of hint that he should seek employment elsewhere, then this is wonderful news.'

Was that ever mooted as a possible reason for the delay in pay?!

My favourite quote from it all though is by that creepy looking Jonathon Shalit who 'discovered' Charlotte Church. He takes it as an opportunity to shamlessly plug himself, letting all 'talent' know that if he were their agent they would never end up in the position with pay that Chris was in. Maybe Chris should make that change.

I think this photo is even funnier, especially since Chris tweeted this earlier today 'So ditched the pork pie and went for a run instead! Just 3 miles. Dirty pap tried to get pictures but I lost him. How embarrassing for him!'

Looks like it wasn't the dirty pap who ended up embarrassed. Poor Chris, he deserves every bit of his money (when he gets paid that is) for having to put up with this kind of thing. Still makes for a funny picture though.

The substance of the story, such that is it, is about Evan's 'scathing attack' on him.

'He said: “I thought of calling him, asking if he wanted to chat about it, but why would he listen to me? He has become the story, and when you’re the story, you’re f*****.”

Evans might want to avoid Moyles for a while... still, looks like he’d easily outrun him...'

"Chris Moyles should leave Radio 1, says Chris Evans

Chris Moyles should leave the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show following his on-air rant about not being paid, according to Radio 2 broadcaster Chris Evans.

Speaking to Richard Bacon on Five Live, Evans - host of Radio 1's breakfast show from 1995 to 1997 - said: "It's time for him to leave".

"Chris has got to go somewhere else," said Evans, who now hosts the Radio 2 breakfast show.

The 44-year-old said Moyles's tirade showed he had "lost perspective".

"Why do you think you have the right to hijack a BBC microphone to make that complaint?" he said of Moyles's recent claim he had not been paid for two months.

Evans went on to suggest Moyles should move into the commercial sector, potentially to Capital Radio if the London-based station goes national as proposed.

"I think he'll go to commercial radio, he'll get a massive pay packet, and I think he'll do very well.

"You've got to leave while there's still some heat around," Evans said of 36-year-old Moyles, whom he claimed was "way out of the demographic" of Radio 1's target audience.

Moyles is Radio 1's longest-serving breakfast host, having occupied the position since January 2004."
