I think that the talkRADIO gig that was probably on the cards for a long time maybe softened his attitude and the on-air stuff will always be partly for entertainment purposes.

Obviously the way he discovered the impending rebrand wasn't great although as we've seen with Martin Kelner recently that's not a unique situation for radio presenters. It's good that it doesn't appear (if it's not just being diplomatic) that he holds that against Chris personally and whilst he may not be a fan he seems to appreciate that he's not just another 'that was...this is' DJ.

So Radio X's best of British countdown has just finished. Oasis occupied the entire top 4. Not sure I'm overly surprised at that.

Has Dom split up with his wife? I've listened to most of the shows since the new show started, and haven't heard him mention her at all.

I think they're just very private. Dom was never the one to take selfies with his wife, tweet about her or tell their personal stuff on air. I do really hope they're still together :O

I was thinking the same thing actually, he used to mention his kids and wife together when talking about family, now he just seems to mention his kids.

Out of interest, has anyone dipped into the new Virgin Radio since it launched? Interested to hear people's thoughts. Aside from the well-documented sound quality issues, I think Chris would be more comfortable with the wider playlist available at Virgin.

No but I've enjoyed some of Iain Lee and Katherine Boyle's new show on Talk Radio. Shame the DAB thing it's on isn't as widely covered as the D1 National one.

It's just a licence it's owned/run by the Wireless Group (formerly known as UTV before they sold the tv station of that name) who own talkSPORT/talkRADIO.

I follow them both on Twitter, and even though they don't tweet each other as much as they did before RadioX was announced, I'm pretty sure they've tweeted each other once or twice since (haven't checked, just seems to ring a bell).

If Chris and Dave really aren't talking, then Dom finds himself in that awkward position of trying to stay friends with both whilst not getting involved in the argument. We've all been there.

I don't think Dom would Tweet Dave if he thought Dave wasn't going to answer.

RE: Dave, didn't Dom and Dave tweet each other last month? Dave insulted Dom's ears but both seemed to take it in jest, so they seem to be friendly.

RE: Dom, I vaguely recall Chris and/or Dave Masterman prodding Dom to join Tinder and he refused to do it because he was married. I'm almost positive he even said he was happily married but that might be conjecture on my part.

However, I got curious and decided to look at some recent Radio X videos. The grainy quality at full screen doesn't help, but it does look in the first "Dom opens your letters" video like Dom is without a wedding ring...

I had no idea that Pippa used to be married. That really surprises me for some reason. If it turns out that Dom is divorced too, then Aled will be the only member of the old team (who stayed on the show until the end) whose relationship has lasted. Who would have expected that when we were hearing all about his various dramas back in the day!

Okay, I'm not. But Dom and Dave tweeted each other publicly and Dom is without a wedding ring on videos made and promoted by his bosses. It's not *that* private, really.

Dunno about Dom. He hasn't mentioned anything on air AFAIK.

No, I don't think he has either. Also it should be borne in mind that not all men wear wedding rings, and even if he used to, there could be other explanations as to why he doesn't have it on in the clips. I know married people of both genders who have stopped wearing their rings due to weight loss/gain, skin rashes/irritations, rings needing cleaning/re-plating, and all sorts of other things. Although if I catch my husband without his, he gets a slap

I have no idea about Pippa. I assumed her surname was her parents' names together. I know a few unmarried people whose surnames are double-barrelled for that reason.
