breaking news.

Unless dave is playing up on his slipping up image.
Dave has slipped up again.
Chris is off today for something too do with strictly.

Looks like it is happening.
Aled also said that vernon is back in control in August. Isn't that when strictly training kicks off?

True, but I'm just a sentimental old fool with an unshakeable faith in the inherent goodness of humanity. At least, that's what I keep telling the therapist.

Why? What did he say?

Isn't August just holiday time? Mills can't do it as he'll be doing that ridiculous Musical thing in Edinburgh (I think Chris took the morning off so he didn't have to talk about it!)

it would make sense if it was scott did the breakfast show due too the musical. It'll give more time during the day too prepare. So thinking chris's holiday would be monday 3rd august for 2 weeks. Scott filling in that time with the musical being monday 10th till wednesday 13th august inclusive.
So there would be logic in scott doing the shows in that time.

Aled They made out that the team were there still. And the team take the same holidays as chris. I've not seen anything different where the team take seperate holiday's to chris.

As for the question on the breaking news. What was said is dave let slip that chris was talking too strictly today. And that vernon would be there with the team in august.
Vernon also mentioned some inuendo on the same subject.

Isn't august the time when the strictly contestants go into training too learn the general thing of ballroom.

Or am i reading too much into it.

I'm starting to come round to the idea that he could be doing Strictly after all. The celebs wouldn't be allowed to confirm they were doing it until the official announcement, but all this banter would be a perfect tool for generating interest amongst his listeners in advance.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Right, where did you read this then? Lets have some proof.

zoot. It is only speculation on that. But what has been said today. With dave's slip up, Vernon's inuendo and vernon is with the rest of the team in august. The guess work and specultation i believe could lead too chris competing.

I spend so much time on here myself that I tend to avoid saying this, but honestly, some of you lot really need to get a life.

Nothing wrong with frittering away a bit of time on idle banter and speculation Yuds - come on in, the water's lovely :D.

Plus, in my case at least, it provides a welcome break from reading possibly one of the dullest documents ever produced in the history of document dullerdry 8O .

I'm not saying i'm not idly curious, but he already said he'd tell us tomorrow what it is all about, so why speculate? I'd actually prefer to have the inside skinny on what happened last Wednesday evening - and because I would rather know the truth about it, I'm not going to speculate with no evidence!

I'm going to raise an Official Point of Pedantry at this stage in the proceedings - is it actually possible to speculate with evidence?

I think so - evidence isn't always empirical, sometimes it can be interpreted in different ways - so I think you could probably speculate regarding interpretation? I'm not going to do that either though!

yudster. Your saying too get a life. Come on. Says the person who has posted near on 13,000 posts. You've done 12,700 posts more in a little more than a year of me joining.

It's a fan site too speculate, Discuss and have some banter. Ease up a little. If not for me. But for your own sanity.

Oh I know, that's why I was hesitant about saying it, I'm well aware that I have spent far too much time on here! However - I still think there's a line between enjoying a fansite and getting so caught up in the people its about that you get worked up about their every move. And I think you (and a few others) and me are on opposite sides of that line.

Thanks for your concern re my sanity though, it is under threat at the moment. Not from anything that goes on here though.

The important thing is to draw the line between the site and real life. It's very easy to let yourself get caught up in all kinds of obsessive discussions on here (speaking from experience) about things that would never occur to you in real life. It's if or when you let the line get blurred and take this stuff with you when you log off that you've got a problem.

Today's discussion is a perfect example for me - I've enjoyed chucking a few daft theories around during break times during the day, it's a welcome distraction, and I find it very easy to switch it on and switch it off again. But if I was sitting at my desk wondering about all this instead of doing my work, or pondering all the ins and outs of it when spending time with friends, then that would be an issue.

So anyway, who thinks he's going to come back tomorrow and announce he's doing Strictly? ;)

i agree with that ed. I throw some theories around. And some of the time. It gets thrown too pieces. It's that line that people cross. That it is a forum too air views. The line is crossed when things get petty over the littleist things and when things like personal attacks.

I don't think chris will come back tomorrow and announce he is on strictly. I think that maybe another time.

So what could it be?

I don't post but read the scott mills forum's. One theory they came up with was that chris was in negotiations for his new contract. Would make some sense.
