I guess they must be considering changing the @chrismoylesshow name to make it shorter in the future.

It's for internal use. We use it when we need to use Twitter which we don't want public.

Out of interest, would using the BBC's internal email system not work just as well, especially with smartphones nowadays being more than capable of handling email? It would cut out the possibility of posting to the wrong Twitter account by mistake as well.

Yeah because if you want something to be kept private, I often think the best place to do it is on twitter. I smell a rat....
