The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I used to love the Roadshows. Always looked forward to them.

There was a real feel of summer about them too, because (for me and much of the R1 audience at least) they coincided with the majority of the school holidays and were sort of the soundtrack to them. I've always assumed they were considered outdated and that's why they were dropped for the new millennium, but I do think they're very much missed and it was a mistake to drop the live coverage as well.

One Big Weekend is, as Candyman said, just another festival amongst all the others, from which we get no more coverage than the odd play of a performance that usually sounds out of place stuck in the middle of the normal playlist, as also happens with Glastonbury etc anyway. I don't understand what's stopping them from broadcasting the whole thing to make everyone feel more part of it as they did with the roadshows...

I went to the one in Rhyl. Rhyl is an awful place, but it was a good laugh. I saw The Honeyz, Phats and Small and Caprice on her brief attempt at a music career.
