Still doesn't work.

Find out which ports aren't blocked on your network, then find someone kind enough to setup port forwarding on their box. They forward a port which you can get out through, to the irc port on irc.webmaster.com.

Sounds complicated. How do I find out which ports aren't blocked?

Sidla if you are not the system adminstrator of the pc and or network that you are using then the actual admin probably wont be too pleased if you start bypasing there security. Chances are though, if everyone on this board pooled there knowledge you would still not get you through, you will have to talk to the tech staff and see if they are willing to lend a hand.

The thing is, you basicaly need to hack the system (oh so glamorous term lol) internaly to get through a firewall. Your not allowed to do that so if you finaly did it and get caught then your computer/system privaledges could be taken away.

In my ludicrous oppinion your best chance is talking to the tech staff and seeing if you are allowed to use MIRC, and if they can help you. Either that or shoot the bastards till finaly the ones that are still alive, give in to your demands

Well exactly, this is what I thought. The reason that I can't do it is obviously because I'm not supposed to do it. But at the end of the day I'm not doing any harm by visiting a chatroom, especially when there are 2000 pcs at SHU and only 10 of them are being used. During busy periods I can understand admin getting peed off because people are using PCs for non-educational perposes, so I wouldn't do it. But when it's quiet like it is at the moment, I see no harm in it.

Anyway, if I did find a way to bypass the firewall, then I could just play the innocent and say that I didn't realise I wasn't supposed to do it or whatever, and I'm sure I'd get away with it.
On the other hand they're probably monitoring this whole conversation and getting ready to pull the plug on my dastardly schemes.
