One thing he is doing is playing a few of the older jingles though, love the "Big Rock" one.

Yup, I'm a geek.

No, Music4 had the contract for the whole of Radio 1, making stuff like Newsbeat packages, Dev packages, Greg James/Scott Mills imaging, talk beds ect.

As to the cheesey songs, for three days now the lyrics have been lazy. I would like to think that the lyrics are intended to be humourous in a simplistic juvenile way but they sound like whoever wrote them couldn't really be bothered.

Do you mean the generic liners, such as : Gerg James, GREG JAMES, BBC Radio 1.

No they don't. He doesn't use generic beds like the other DJs either. He has his package, and that's all he ever uses.

Think about this logically. If the BBC spend money on making jingles are they then gonna let Chris not use them?

Someone said on UM that perhaps there's no new jingles because there's only 8 months or so of the show left, so it's not viable.

That's been mentioned on this thread as well but he only ever uses a jingle for a few months anyway and he would have only had 8 months left at this time last year but they still gave him more jingles

None that I know of, no.

The BBC pay for their voiceovers/fx, but all their talk-beds, apart from the odd one or two, all come from prodcution music libraires.

It's generally Newsbeat that does it - I think he has phone problems.

Sat and today are up
