I'm sorry YumTum I have to disagree there - I think the Take That song has been done to death. Don't forget they played it after the announcement. Gregg James played it at the end of Early Breakfast, and it's been played numerous other times like when Fincham departed.

How about some instrumental music with various memorable clips of the team, add a bit of echo, epic.

But there are many worthy songs to go right before the final pips. I don't envy whoever has to choose which one!

I think this is a great idea. Alan Carr, Ozzy, Schofe and how about Justin Lee Collins, Christopher Biggins and John Barrowman to name a few others. I'm sure there are more great guests but those extra ones were all that comes to mind right now.

I'd nominate 'Closing Time' by Semisonic, a good song and always makes me cry when it's used in goodbye compilation type things.

Simple. But fitting. Why Not have No Talking. and the usual closing jingle. extend it to a 2 minute jungle. and after the pips. No Handover. (of course after the extended show time.)

I'd like to have past members come back. I'd also like it if they re-done the first ever opening jingle (A 5 minute jingle going on about past Radio 1 breakfast djs') and use it as the last ever jingle played in a bookend kind of way. All the team should have time to do a speach of there own (They are all part of the show in a big way afterall).
If it was possible...One last run of carpark catchphrase but with the first ever two contestants and the last two ever contestants all week except for the absolute last show. Have them fight it out to see who ends up being the ultimate winner of cpc with some sort of prize for the winner. I would suggest mugs of all the team from all through the eight and half years.

And then, like the team have been joking about in the past, the "yawn no-one cares" clip!

I'd love it if they didn't play any music at all on the final show but if they did it would only be parodies or best bit clips. Who wants to hear playlist music when it's the last ever show?!

A final game of Two Word Tango would be brilliant, it's one of my favourite features ever. Ramble making a reappearance would be great, I always thought that's where some of the best ever links happened.

Friends of the show making appearances in the last week would be nice; Davina, Alan Carr, Sharon and Ozzy, Jamie Oilver, Gary Barlow and JLC to name but a few.

All in all, I just want the final show to be like any other where the team just have fun and make me feel like i'm part of the gang. :)

First off welcome. we hope you stick around.

sounds a good idea. only parodies and clips... I have to point 1 thing out.

HE IS ONLY LEAVING BREAKFAST... NOT THE STATION... so its not the last ever show.

I think you are right about doing the final show from the Radio 1 studios. Everyone loves a good montage, and Im sure there will be one at the end, but the last show would be great IMO if the bulk of it was final features and goodbyes from old team members and Chris' friends- eg. Davina, Jon Culshaw etc. We can do "looking back" throughout the 6 week buildup after holidays. A Moyles Gold daily feature would go down well. Especially if we had Moyles singing some Spandau ballet.

As for how the show should end in the last minute, I think the answer is clear. Chris does a blummin emotional speech and then You finish it off with the 6min opener from 2004, but this time it sings about the great moments in the show. The cresendo builds and we go into the peeps and a preview of the Nick Grimshaw Breakfast show.

I was only 10 (!) but I still remember Zoe Ball's breakfast team singing "Goodbye farewell auf weidersehn goodbye". On the other side of the spectrum I have no memory of Sara's last show but I'm certain I listened because that was during my uber obsessive days and I was excited about Moyles taking over in January.

A lot of good ideas so far, one thing I'd love is for Chris to finally get an updated clip saying "International..." from Davina's daughter Holly.

I'd like to have one last Who knows Dom (but with one person this would be very short), birthday corner, 2 word tango, celebrity tarzan and as has already been mentioned, would be great to have ramble back.

I think some of the ideas in this thread (and my own) don't necessarily have to be on the final show. They could be used in the final week or so too.

Two important things for me it is in the studio and only features current and former show members (not Tulisa or Olly Murs). I'd also like it to be just the usual 06.30 - 10.00 show but with no handover at the end. It's a radio show so I am not fussed if it is streamed live or not...Part of me hopes it isnt.

I would prefer it if friends of the show weren't on it, not because I don't like them, but because they have played an infinitesimally small part in the show over the years and I‘d like the final show to be about the people who have made it the show that it has been.

Schedules permitting, I would be disappointed if Juliette, Carrie and Rachel didn't make an appearance on the show (or during the final week). It would be great if Juliette and Carrie could read a sports bulletin each as well.

Rachel has played a massive part in the shows success and I think it would be fitting if she played a significant role in the final week, or show. It would be good to hear her say “play a record” one final time!

For me, I’d like the end of the show to be just as understated as the end to Friends was when they simply went off for a coffee (anyone who watched the show will understand the significance) and I’d like it if the Moyles show ended in a similar way.

I really don't want anything too OTT like this years birthday show was. If the final show could just be like a normal show, but with a difference (an old feature or two thrown in?), and with the old members playing their part and a nice ending I would be happy.

Whatever they decide to do, I am sure it will be great.

id love them to finally get plan b on the show and have chris and him do that parody chris has written. some classic guests on the show would be a nice touch also, some of my old favourites are ozzy and sharon, peter kay, paddy and also david guetta has become a recent favourite. knowing moyles no matter what they do its going to be quality!

I would love to see old team members back, old friends (Olly Murs, Davina, etc), maybe Holly doing the international radio 1 live? They always go on about how she is a lot older now and it would be nice and symbolic to show how the show has grown etc, old features (Two Word Tango please!). It would be amazing if it was extended and was televised/on the red button. I do like studio shows a bit more than the live ones because they feel a bit more intimate. I bet they are considering all the options though, you know how much they milked Chris's birthday show this year so the last show will definitely go out with a bang!

For the last week (or weeks, knowing Chris!)

1) Get Westwood in for a few live editions of "Where's Westwood?" Maybe even have him phoning in live from each location (e.g. "THE POST OFFICE!") -- after the bit, he can come in to the studio and be Westwood live. He and Chris are great together.

2) Ask Aled to cook 6 curries and time them all to get to the team as the news begins. :D

I think it would be lovely if they played a completely instrumental (original) Cheesy Song for the last ever show, understated yet profound. Obviously the spectacular one from 5th Jan 2004 would have to be played first. Its gonna be a tough job incorporating all these aspects of the show into the final weeks..........

I'd like that, too. And some audience (including myself of course :D ). I know the team joked about the ending of the show when a lot of clips got deleted in January but I think I would like the cheek if they ended with "yawn, no one cares".

Doh! SAV1OUR, beat me to it.

My suggestion would have been The Final Cheesy Song, with all team members having a line, maybe a bit of slow emotional instrumental at the end for us all to have a quiet weep.
