The song isn't called Gordon Is A Moron. The original artist (and I use that word with trepidation) was a chap called Graham Fellowes, who, in 1978 created the punk(ish) persona of Jilted John. The song was also called Jilted John. It was originally around in the early Spring of 1978 but didnt become a hit until the summer - August I think.

Goodness! You're even more pedantic than I am. I knew it was by Jilted John, which is precisely how I found it on You Tube. Mind you, I could have simply typed in in 'Gordon' and 'moron' and come up with similar results...

How on earth does a self-confessed massive radio geek go from the biggest radio show in the UK to 'bigger and better things'?! I appreciate eventually he'll have to move on, but I don't see it being in the next year and possibly a fair bit longer than that, personally.

the sun tv columnist has just been on simon mayos show on five live. She said the sun only prints the truth!!!!!!! but she couldnt comment on smarts story, and that she didnt want to start a war of words with chris. Mayo was sticking up for chris and saying he would be on simons show early next week

I genuinely don't get what Gordon Smart is trying to achieve by flogging this horse, unless of course his ultimate aim is to try and get Chris off the breakfast show (but why?) and he's under some misapprehension that this 'campaign' will prove fruitful in that regard.

The BBC have said it's not true, Chris has categorically stated it's not true, yet there he is spouting his nonsense on Suntalk.

What I don't understand about Gordon is his response on the Sun Radio. How can he be suprised that Chris is getting upset and annoyed by the story ? The thing was FRONT blooming page, and supposedly false. So what would Gordon do if the lead story on Newsbeat on R1 all day was "Gordon to be sacked by the Sun in September". Yeah, like he wouldn't be narked if the Sun told him it was false but the station still ran the story. Anyone who has a job would be. I also hate how sources are never named, it is always "someone close to the star" or "our insider says", arrggghhhh, just name them for gods sake, then maybe people will believe you.

Yeah, I just heard that bit of the show and Mayo said that there was a good chance Chris will be on his show early next week.

I think the lady from the Sun was clutching at straws there. They know they've mucked up and create quotes from nameless 'sources' for this reason - so that they can simply deny the backlash when it comes (by use of 'more accurate' sources than the BBC itself).
Also, her argument that went along the lines of 'Chris should be able to take what he gives' is such bullshit. Chris can take his level of banter, but has no need to take it on the chin when the front page of one of Britain's biggest papers is making up lies about his career. Who honestly would?

I just heard the clip, and agree with TIAL. The 'Chris should take what he gives out' argument doesn't work, as he takes the piss out of people - Gordon Smart prints lies, it's two completely different things.

She obviously didn't want to get into the discussion in the first place, and the more she tried to get out of it, the clearer it was what a made up sack of shit it is. Mind you, working for The Sun the closest she will get to reality is Big Brother, so there's not much point trying to ask her anyway. Bunch of sad talentless tossers.
