That was a great first show, it feels so great to hear Chris and Dom and Paul the voiceover guy back on the radio
He must be reading this thread, quite a few people here called the cheesy song intro cutting into something new, a few seconds before I got a weird feeling that I was about to hear the cheesy song intro and there it was, amazing, knew it wasn't going to be the whole thing though! Loved how it took him 25 minutes to play a song and to have the first song played on the new station that promised 'fresh rock' Girls Aloud was pretty funny, as was the old XFM listeners' outrage on twitter completely missing the joke
I can tell I'm going to geek out whenever a reference to old show is made, I loved his dig at Ben Cooper and it was lovely to hear him mention Rachel and Aled in his response to Pippa's recommendation to play a song. Glad he's going to call Dave 'Madam', every time he said Dave's name at the beginning I kept on expecting actual Dave to speak, but of course no. And Noel Gallagher was a great choice of first guest, he never disappoints, 'You're nowt without Dave' haha
The adverts will get a bit annoying though, it's half 10 and I've already heard the same British Gas ad 5 times this morning
Can't wait to hear the next show, I'm really looking forward to see where he goes with the new show, I know I'm going to miss the zoo format of the old show and Aled and Dave and co, but it should be a good listen every morning
