That was the week of the mile I think? Yea - it was pretty unbearable. Luckily the week following it, it all but disappeared. He didn't really say a lot about it given how much they pushed it prior to the event. That surprised me a bit.

Celebrity Tarzan is becoming quite unbearable now since they have had the same one for the past 4 weeks ever since before they went out to the World Cup in Germany! Some of the guesses were stupid as hell. Just listening as I am curious who the hell it is!

Oh and yeah, they sure did push the hell out of the Sport Relief mile Chris was doing.

So does he bang on about it for the whole week?

Oh yeah I remember listening to that a while ago, it's one of my favorite shows from 2004, I love the shows were they get into a heated topic and debate and then just drag it out for ages.

Listened to the 2004-18-08 show #140. The team was really having a lot of fun with Rachel wearing a green poncho for a 2nd day in a row. Funny just by itself but then they all put on ponchos while she was out of the room and she busted out laughing for a good minute when she came back in. There was a webcam image grabbed of the event. Any chance that image is buried here somewhere? I did a search for it but all I found were comments regarding the event itself.

A general question about the replays. With the exception of live tracks, Buzz off tracks and Chris' song parodies, all the songs are edited out. I get why the latter two types are kept in, but why are the live tracks not edited out? I'm not complaining about that, just wondering if there's a particular reason why why they're left intact.

Well, presumably if they're not commercially available there's no need to take them out for copyright reasons. I would probably still edit them out if it was me though, just for consistency.

Juliet didn't go but Dom went for the final weekend, but didn't appear on air. Carrie made her debut appearance on the show(I think) during the Portugal shows as deputy for Juliet, but she, too, wasn't in Portugal.

Agreed. I also can't believe the stuff they were saying during the "Pop Stars Go To School" feature in January 2005! e.g. that
Lamarr would be not be going home alone from his school visit because the young girls were screaming for him.
The "Detox" month in Jan 2005 drove me a bit batshit. Mainly because they kept banging on about the whole "detox" concept, as if it really existed. There's no such thing. The worst example was Rachel going on about her "Detox patch" she was wearing on her ankle. What the hell is that supposed to do?!?

By going on a diet and decreasing alcohol intake, you are not "removing toxins" from your body. That is the function of your liver and kidneys. Eating better and drinking less is fine, if you do it as a permanent thing, not for 30 days. Doing that and then going back on the booze is really not doing you much good. Especially for Chris, who admits that he was smoking 40 cigarettes a day.

Eventually all the nonsense is brought to a halt after a week or two by, of all people, Sophie, as she tells Chris to STFU about it. And he does. PHEW!

If I'm honest, this annoyed me for much of the time the show was on air. I learned to live with the constant diet/exercise talk cos there were so many other things I loved about the show, but I've recently been listening to some shows from early 2011 and Chris goes on EVERY DAY about how he's not eating bread. I don't eat a lot of carbs cos my digestive system doesn't particularly like them, but a) it's nothing to do with dieting or detoxing and b) I don't harp on about it except to those who are directly affected by my eating patterns, ie housemate and boyfriend. Nobody else is interested!

I can go months without eating bread and years without drinking booze and never really miss it or notice it. I certainly wouldn't be boring the arse off anyone about it. This year, I've lost about 4 inches off my waist, through not eating bread and other bad stuff, but I don't feel the need to post on the many forums where I am a well-known celebrity.

Shit, I just did.

Lolz. You know how to find me: it's tattooed on my arm in big letters. Unless I'm wearing long sleeves, in which case you're stumped :) Not that I've ever been to a dinner party in my life. I'm from a Northern working-class background, and they are not really a feature of our social calendars.

The 2005 stuff didn't bother me at all. I quite liked the weekly weigh-ins. Dieting and weight-loss are subjects that have always interested me though, if only because so many people don't know what they are talking about and it amuses me.

The 2011 time when Chris was obsessed with losing weight was tiresome though, but only because he never shut up about it. But as a subject matter it's just another thing to talk about that will interest some, but not others.

A friend of mine posted a picture on Twitter of the lunch she had in a vegan cafe (she isn't vegan or vegetarian but doesn't eat processed food, sugar, cultivated cereal or grain or intensively farmed meat) - it was the most gorgeous looking plate of food I have seen in ages. Basically a great colourful pile of vegetables cooked in different ways. Which would be anathema to most vegetarians I know, who hardly ever seem to eat vegetables. You're all weirdos.

Haha, I do eat veggies, but admittedly not enough. I had a real craving for aubergine the other day - is that technically a fruit?...
