The weekly weigh-ins were great. It was the daily moaning on and on that was driving me (and Sophie) batty.

If vegetarians don't eat veg, what the hell do they eat?

Dust? Dust, anyone? Dust? Dust?

Well the One-Stop chicken sandwich I just had is enough to persuade anyone to vegetarianism. On more than one level.

Tofu, soya and everything made from them (fake burgers, sausages, cheese, ham, chorizo, fishfingers etc), nuts and seeds, beans and legumes, bread, potatoes (not technically veg), cakes and desserts, yogurt, cereals, pasta...I could continue, but I'm boring myself.

Potatoes are vegetables, I don't care how many people fail to realise it, they bloody are.

Of course they are a vegetable, but because they aren't particularly good for you we aren't allowed to THINK of them as vegetables. Madness.

Listened to the 2004-09-07 show (#153) earlier today. Interesting to hear Slash from G n' R giving the first post-tedious link commentary (i.e. "Dave, that link was TEDIOUS") and their reaction to it. Dave was really pleased with that surprise bit of audio.

It's amazing how much of the stuff up for discussion on the 2004 shows I'd completely forgotten about. It's sort of like a mini history lesson in a way. Just listened to the John Peel tribute show and shamefully forgot he'd even passed away.

Listened to the 2004-09-14 show (#157) and Chris mentioned Fern Cotton for the first time. I think she was going to be on some R1 special program or something. I was (just) a little surprised when Chris went all creepy/pervie over her just like he always did when she started following his show as presenter. He even cut to the sleazy music bed that he almost always used when chatting with her. I never would have thought that he's had the hots for her since 2004.

Oh, it gets better -- even in 2004! Keep listening! :D

I have to say once more how much I appreciate these being made available! I don’t know what I would do without these downloads. It has been a true pleasure to listen to the early pre-Sirius years on my commute each day, almost as if they haven’t gone. Almost every day has at least one link that I would classify as radio gold! Thanks so much.

Wow - the 2004-09-23 show (#165) was truly historic. First time Dom did the "bum-bums" for car park catch phrase. You can hear him getting closer and closer to doing it in the handful of shows prior to this one.

I'm really behind on the rewind, I think I'm still only on July 12th 2004 and I've had a massive gap over the past month or so and haven't listened to any shows, I need to catch up.

This morning I listened to the show where she showed up and surprised Chris with an invitation to host Top of the Pops with her. I'm assuming this is what you're referring to. Pretty good segment. Really strange hearing them go back and forth knowing that she'd be hosting the 10:00 show in a few years time. I was also surprised that Andi Peters was there as well, but he wouldn't go on air. So I'm guessing at that point he and Chris really didn't know each other? I was always under the impression that they were old friends., but I guess I was wrong.

Yes, that's the one I was referring to! Wait until the birthday show 2005, he's all over her like a cheap suit. Bleurch!

I don't know about A N D I Peters -- maybe Rachel didn't want him to go on air? There was some weirdness with her and A N D I -- a lot of it from A N D I, I think.

Badger Mark wrote:Nice to hear The Monday Night Pub Quiz finally making it's appearance on the show (Nov 2004). For some reason that's one of the things I miss the most these days.

I love hearing Chris get angry when he doesn't win and how stupid Chris and Dave often appear -- Chris with general knowledge and Dave with maths.

They haven't got to the "texts off, and phones out of your area (they're out of my area!)" era yet. They'll get to it as with text screens and phones available, Chris tends to cheat...

Just so admins are aware of it, the RSS feed is currently invalidated due to missing a opening tag for the <item> element at line 26 leaving the </item> tag on line 31 orphaned.

This might cause a lot of podcast software to be unable to read the feed effectively.
