To be fair though (and I'll be honest I haven't got that far into the show yet) there have been far worse "gay stereotype" jokes made before & will be made afterwards.

To me, people just seem to be picking on Moyles for two reasons 1) Jealousy, I do wonder if people are just jealous the Moyles has risen so quickly at such a young age that they are bitter because perhaps they haven't succeeded like him? 2) Because of the wage he's on, it's ALWAYS bought up when the press start moaning about him, who cares, the BBC chose that wage & they had their reason to do so.

It won't happen until enough people vote with their wallets and stop buying them. I'm not holding my breath. I did wonder whether the "National Outpouring of Grief" (TM) at the time of Diana's death might have done it, there was a hint of a backlash then. However enough sections of the media were able to successfully make out it was all the fault of the French, and of course Al Fayed spouting forth like a lunatic on a bad acid trip, meant it all went away for them.

What really pisses me off in all this is the way the BBC just submit to it. There was a time, actually not so long ago, when Moyles was naming and shaming hacks and rags which had a go at him left right and centre. Now it just sounds like he's been gagged.

I'm sick to death of reading self-righteous little pricks moaning about how they pay their licence fee and don't want it wasted on people like Brand and Moyles. Well, I pay mine, and I don't want it wasted on a BBC that panders to the whimsy of the anally retentive and terminally blinkered.

It's an age thing. All the whingers are 50 to 60 somethings who have just worked out that their Pensions are screwed, had too many drugs in the 70's and haven't got a clue how to use a computer. They are so bitter and wanting that the hate to see the generations below them, who in general are level headed, happy, hard working and caring, as well as not being homophobic, Racist bigots, and they hate us. The only thing "we" do is swear a bit more and take the piss out of everyone, so that is their only point of criticism.

Thing is people who complain about it always get their own way, what about us poor sods who actually enjoyed it & don't get offended by everything under the sun, oh that's right screw us because a bunch of sad f***wits moan as per usual.

One other thing I have read about about people disliking Moyles is that he talks too much during the show (same thing aimed at Holmes, M&L, Tarrant, Pat Sharp & Penky in the past) and how people want more music & less talk & ads. Listen to a bloody CD or iPod then in that case, radio is really dull when it's just music, music, music & some sycophantic DJ bigging up every track saying how great it is even though half of them are sh*te in the first place.

Did anyone see the episode of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe just after the Sachsgate thing hit? Funniest thing ever. I could tell it would be good when he started the show by pretending to be on the phone and ending the call with 'I ****ed your granddaughter!'

Anyways, he puts forward a brilliant idea, the Counter Complaint! Basically, if we like something which others may deem offensive, we can ring up the BBC and make a counter complaint, which negates someone else who rings up with a complaint.

I always found it weird how a handful of people complaining makes more difference than a legion of people praising something. Grrrr.

I saw my mate today, who is Jewish, who had read about it & he didn't find it offensive at all, he got exactly who Chris was swiping at (the producers), just lazy useless journalism as usual

Personally I only purchase our local paper the Eastern Daily Press, and I only read the back few pages to read about Norwich, and I find that depressing as the EDP tends to just be an extension of the Carrow Road PR department.
