Thing is though, been having a trip down soundclip memory lane, theres stuff in the sound requests area of this site that didn't get added to the vault, there was a member called Stickyshocker who provided different variations of Cheesy Song, and it just reminded me that I once downloaded these in a different lifetime.

Don't go near the megauploads links mind.....

BIG MISTAKE! The FBI own that site's ass nowadays, proper scary pic telling me more or less to bugger right off.

It's the six keys lying on the counter together as the last lingering shot that still kills me whenever I watch that final episode.

Yeah and Moyles did liken the Grimshaw interview to 'handing over the keys to the flat'. I can envisage them going out quietly now you say that. Would speak volumes.

Yep. I put the DVD on yesterday evening as the way I feel about the end of the Moyles show is pretty similar to how I felt about the end of Friends.

They got the tone just right. The end was perfect.

It was the same for me with Lost. Although I managed not to cry until Sawyer and Juliet at the vending machine - then I was off and couldn't stop :)

I will be hella disappointed if the show doesn't end with the regular tune.

best ending would be for the penultimate show to be the one with all the guests etc. then the last one to be just three and a half hours, no features, no competitions and just chat. Oh and no more than 2 songs per half hour.

As long as I get my fill of normal cheesy jingles to sing along to, very little music and lots of the fun and chat we're used to, the final show will be as fantastic as it possibly can be.

For the final show it would be great to see Carrie and Rachel back. I agree with those who have said about Friends of the show not being too much of the last one - it should be about the team. And ending on Dave's 'no-one cares'.

Things I would like to see in the build up though;

Jimmy Carr telling Aled jokes again
Justin Lee Collins and Chris dueting Tom Jones - maybe with actual Tom Jones?!
Highlights clips
Live Orchestral jingles
Updated Holly 'international radio one'

As they have said on the show already probably have some good guests/friends of the show on. Maybe an audience as well maybe. They've never done that before.

Suggestions on guests:

Pink (new song at now/soon so good excuse) - has always been a good guest
Katy Perry - she seems a laugh when seen on TV. Think she has only been in the Longest Show Ever show
Will Smith - been on quite recently but still great
Peter Kay - and do the TV theme tune game with him.
Davina - not been on for awhile. And may be with Holly.
Jake Humphrey (plus DC and EJ) - on the show on the phone but in the studio would be good
Jenson Button - never been on show or talked about really but I am just a big fan of Jenson.

They already mentioned some guests on the show like Will Ferrell, Alan Carr and Jeremy Clarkson who I think are always good on the show

Would be good to bring back people who used to work on show like Carrie, Rachel, Lizzie... even Matt Fincham. And have people like Longman, Rob DJ on the actual show in the studio.

I hope they do more singing on the show. Always loved it when they sang along to songs. Also when they played clips from their Rallyoke. There recently ones, they didnt really play them back.

I'm with the people who are suggesting some caution with squeezing many guests/features in to the last show, you get too much in, feels too cramped and you lose the best bit of the show - which is just silly chat between the team. I think you've got the 2 weeks in the leadup to slowly have more fun/go off script and have the occasional old feature come up and do a lot of the old guests, and make it mainly about the team on the final show. And some of the nostalgia features there and maybe then real good friends of the show, not just good guests.

Though with the Dave hair dye chat this morning I wonder if there's some mileage in a 'Confessions' feature about the team/show, or something in the vein of the 'Golden ****' award from Top Gear (where they give it to the presenter whose made the biggest mistakes, on or off-air around the show)

For how to actually end the final show, I think the show should start with the cheesy song (though a new version or part instrumental, I like that idea) and then end on a new version of the opening song. Oh, maybe then 'yawn no-one cares'.

I think I'd rather the final, final show had no guests other than former team members, which would be quite fun.

I imagine a few regular guests will be popping up towards the end, but yeah I agree with those who've said no guests for the final show.

Maybe a week long celebration that covers off everything and anything about the CMS - make the whole week light on music(!)...

Monday - the team begin the week with no clue as to what the week has in store. Keep this show deliberately light in content to provoke random chats.

Tuesday - the team begin a marathon of old show features including Rob DJ, One Road Travel, One Word weather, CPC, Where Am I? Celebrity Raspberry/Tarzan, Tedious, Sting Ring, Classical Class etc. Every song played is a breakfast show parody. Tonight the team are on location - but where?

Wednesday - the team are live from a secret location (probably Leeds - maybe Elland Road)? Some of Chris's favourite bands are there playing live, listeners are there and the team swap leaving gifts. Last night the team did karaoke in the same location, Carrie and Rachel joined in and the highlights are played. (This will be similar to the birthday show)

Thursday - the team begins the day reminiscing about their favourite CMS moments, listeners text in their requests and classic Moyles show moments are heard. It is announced that Chris and Dave will be staying on radio 1 all day until the end of Greg/Zane's show to invoke memories of the Marathon show before heading off to the CMS party. Each of Fearne, Scott and Greg will have special Moyles show features and special guests (Davina, Barlow, Culshaw, Kay, Grohl etc. etc.)

Friday - last night after the all-day breakfast was the end of show party and the team spend the first hour talking about the random events/people of the night before. Everyone is knackered and emotional. More classic clips are played, all of the songs played are team favourites from 2004 onwards. The team do Christmas presents, songs as they won't be here when it rolls round. They bow out in a blaze of glory with the cheesy song closer and, as Fearne arrives at the mic for the handover the team have already left the building.

Emmy wrote:For Dave to either bring back or create a new one of his amazing games, and to play a final round of the internal phone system game. I know that it won't go this way, because quite naturally you'll want it to be an extraordinary spectacle of a show, but I would like for it to just be a celebration of lots of the classic bits and pieces you've done over the years, with no guests apart from old CMS members.

Haha can you imagine-

'Hello, which name please?'

I think old features, old clips etc shouldn't be crammed into the final show, it should be over the last month or so.

I'd love if a few crap things came back, King of Tickets would be great.

The final show should (if possible) feature old team members if they want to and are available etc.

I really hope it doesn't just end on a Golden Hour. I like the idea of the song played on the opening show (and when they broke Blackburn's record) also being re-done to end the show. Like a full circle.
