I don't find Ben Stiller funny at all yet he was one of the best ever guests on Moyles.

Agreed. I also think similarly of Will Ferrell. Only funny thing I've seen him in was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Yeah I watched Elf and everyone says how brilliant it is but its ok and nothing more. I haven't seen Anchorman which I am told is good.

I find Zoolander funny, but only because there's a guy at work who's a lot like him, both in image and the way he acts. It's more the comparison that amuzes.

Jim Carey anyone? Love or hate?

Personally, cant stand the guy, but I liked The Truman Show.

Started out good, Dumb and Dumber, the first Ace Ventura movie, but after Cable Guy he got mundane.

I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I quite liked that but can't think of any others I like.

Other than Liar Liar mmmmmmm Maura Tierney.

I was and still am a bit of a Carrey fan, though I haven't seen a lot of his later stuff (Eternal Sunshine, Man on the Moon, Lemony Snicket, that type of thing). I thought the second Ace was better than the first (which is unusual, especially seeing as Tom Shadyac directed the first). I never liked Cable Guy but his portrayal of The Riddler was good in Batman Forever. The Truman Show was very good (and no I haven't seen Ed TV, the first smart arse who says that is better) and I liked Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. But I like a bit of silly comedy sometimes.

Alrighty then..

The Mask was when I really got into the Carrey experience, I was still at school, I think its good he had a Batman villain role as he reminds me of the greatest villain of all time - The Joker. Mask was great, that whole redemption theme, its also a very special film because its a complete un-sequelable one-off, great slapstick and effects combined. This shall be the era I prefer to remember Carrey from, I think hes realised now that hes practically invincible in Hollywood. The roles he chooses now are diverse and as flexible as his rubber face. Up his own arse too but I've gotta hand it to him, I dont blame him.

Liar Liar, very good, I remember rolling out the pictures after seeing that, very funny. And closely followed by When Nature Calls - which also had the one and only Carrey factor in it, and many will regard that as his true break, but as mentioned I think the mask was in a brilliant league of its own.

Jack Nicholson played a fantastic Joker, he was ideal for the role. Nicholson is a supreme actor, one of the very best (certainly at the moment anyway).

Was Ben Stiller in Dodgeball? I enjoyed that film. I'm not saying it was good, but I did enjoy it.

Completely agree. I can't watch any film he's in. HATE him - although to quote Phoebe "Don't hate, don't put that out in the universe" Ah Friends I love it a quote for everything

No I LOVE friends! You obviously either have no taste or are under 33!

What's being under 33 got to do with it? Besides I know people that are under 33 and have no taste and like Friends; I would argue that it is because they have no taste that they like Friends, but meh.

Friends is OK (it's the best of the sitcoms that have been exported from America anyway) but nothing special. I am under 33, but that doesn't mean I don't get the jokes (the main cast were in their 20s when it started for Christ's sake), I just don't find it that funny.

It started well, but then got crap IMO.
It just seemed to me to be same old s**t over and over again after 2 seasons (sounds strangely familiar, can't think why )

Has happened to so many shows.

I think Curb was (or indeed, is) the best American sitcom. I never really found Friends very funny, although my [younger] sister loved it, so that under 33 statement is worthless.

Curb?

Of the ones I've seen, I think Frasier was the best, with Scrubs a close second.
