I don't think she was a last minute thing after other people refused - think she's too big for that - but I do wonder if it was a trade-off with a record company - to get a massive act for the Hackney weekend for example. I get the impression it's something the station pushed for rather than the show.
Regardless, I know she's part of the more recent history of the show, but I don't think too many people would have been gutted if she had been overlooked this week.
I know that's all slightly negative, but I genuinely have been enjoying the shows this week
