I'd like to see the odds on Chris landing a role on a 'judging panel' for a TV 'talent' style show. It would be a good way to push himself back into the public consciousness while avoiding scrutiny of his work.

I wouldn't... I'd like to see / hear him on something I'd actually enjoy watching / listening to.

Sounds about right.

If Chris becomes on of their newspaper reviewers we'll know just how desperate he has become. On the other hand I really don't want to see him in the horrible 12:15 slot desperately trying to flog tickets for JCSS.

He sounds a bit posh now. Part of the image change I guess.

Oh and breaking news: he isn't coming back to radio for a long time.

He's looking well. I think he may have had his teeth done as well.

I was a little shocked to hear that he's not doing any radio for the foreseeable future. I hope for his sake that he's got something else planned. And I wonder if it's his choice not to go back on the wireless, or if it's that nobody wants to hire him?

I LOVE the word 'wireless'. And yeah, JCS is selling terribly. There are a ton of those 241 offers floating around and it's still half empty apparently. I think trying to do a religious musical in arenas was just too ambitious, even with 'names' in it.

Just watched his interview from This Morning on This Morning, I'm not surprised to be honest, but I'm glad that we know for sure now. It was getting a bit annoying wondering whether he was going to go back on the radio or if he wasn't

I always think that Chris does the wrong sort of television shows. It's like he's drawn to shiny floor shows, audiences and the whole 'live' element, but I think he'd be more suited to shows where's he's out and about, meeting people, whilst on a mission of discovery.

I'm talking Dawn O'Porter territory, but without the love and sex stuff. I think he'd be really good there.

Just seen the interview and I'm disappointed that he is so definitive about not doing any more radio. It was clear to everyone who followed the show closely that he'd fallen out of love with doing a radio show, but I kind of hoped that that view would have softened a bit by now after having a break.

Sad to think that we wont get him back until his other ventures flop and he falls back to what he was once genius at. Shame, but we all change and move on I suppose.

Exactly that.

I just find it a shame that he doesn't WANT to do radio again.

I think you're right. I enjoyed the documentary he did a couple of years back when he met and talked to most of the old Radio 1 Breakfast Show hosts, he should do something similar to that.

I've often said as well that he'd be great doing a chat show. He's no Michael Parkinson, but from what I've heard of him on the radio over the years, he's very good at interviewing celebrities. And he'd be better than Alan Carr.

The problem is that he isn't really relevant any more. He isn't going to get offered prime time chat shows or movies etc. The way he spoke on This Morning was as if he thinks he is too big for radio and it's now beneath him when the truth is that radio is the only thing he has ever done that has been a success. Every TV show has failed thus far.

IMHO, he's being an idiot by sitting there and thinking his past will keep him in work. Why not spend time and money on some sort of radio academy? UK Radio is in dire need of talent and Chris is right role model for the future of confident and budding broadcasters. Community radio desperately needs someone to fly their flag and Chris would be seen as a hero if he did that. Even taking on a role to represent Hospital Radio as a patron. It's nothing too much to say thank-you to a hobby that gave him a chance.

Maybe Chris is genuinely tired of radio and that the BBCs attitude has made him fed of the industry entirely when the best even pushed him out of the door. Makes me sad really. :(

Chris isn't a role model though that's what his appeal is. When you listened to him you felt as if it was going to go off the rails at any moment and that anything could happen and that isn't what radio is meant to be like and for me he is the anti DJ.
I can't speak for Chris but in my opinion he'd have no interest in being a mentor for young DJ's as there's nothing in it for him.
