The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I've noticed recently that Chris often says stuff like "Snow Patrol is 4 minutes, Britney is 3 minutes with a 1 minute ad in the middle so we'll be back in 8 minutes" or stuff like that.

Has he been doing this for ages and I'm just too slow to realise?

Does he do it because he knows people only listen for the links so they know if they've got enough time to jump in the shower or do something else that prohibits listening? Or in fact does he do it so people on listen again can just fast forward to the next good bit rather than have to listen to the music?

I've only just noticed it but I swear he's only started doing it recently.

If you were listening when I was, he actually said that you've got seven minutes if you need to jump in the shower. I've heard it a few times recently.

I did but I just thought I'd throw in the "Do something else" line. He's also done it without shower references though. It is bloody handy on listen again I've not been listening to the live shows recently now that I can xfer them to my iPhone.

It is handy and one of the main reasons that I like Chris and detest Scott. Scott will tell you "ok, coming up in a moment, a repeat of the same thing we did yesterday" but what he means by "coming up in a moment" is "coming up after the next two records, the news and another two records..."

Lying rat.

Ha. It is only fairly recently that he's been doing it. I love it. I get the feeling he must have read the thread or two where many of us said we only listen for him and leave the room when the music bits are on. He's being helpful, bless him.

I agree, Andy, it's great for fast forwarding on Listen Again. He's spot on with his estimates, too. I do love the iPlayer. I like being able to stop and start and rewind when I want. I hit rewind several times the other day when they had Jimmy Carr on. His girlie laugh is brilliant.

Yep that's me!

I detest the Radio 1 Playlist. It's like being stuck in a revolving room with the top 10 singles chart toppers, who then proceed to take it in turns singing the same song over and over again.

Xfm and Planet Rock for meeee! Flicking to Radio 1 for links o'course :D
