Listened to every show since june 06, but why oh why have the team started talking about food EVERY morning in the 1st or second link?

im sure im not alone in noticing this.

I know chris is on a health kick and has just learned to cook, but i am also on a health kick of my own and am trying to skip breakfast most mornings and just having an apple or two (i know its the most important meal of the day) but by the time i have set off in the car i am starving, and its all to do with them talking about food non stop for 10-15mins every morning. I love the show but does it have to be every day, and at breakfast time?

Rant over... as Chris would say.

I know what you mean, but I can't folk talking about food has ever bothered me. I don't eat until lunch myself, so you'd think it would. But not even Sara Cox affects my hunger with all the food references she makes later in the morning!

You should be okay just having fruit for breakfast - it's normally all I have - but you need to eat three different pieces ideally, and eat them slowly with a 10-15min interval inbetween. No scarfing down apples in the car.

OK, I'm no dietitian but surely skipping breakfast is the exact opposite of being healthy?

Skipping breakfast isn't healthy if you get hungry in the mornings - not everyone does. It's a myth that you must stuff something down to be productive during the day - no harm in not eating anything til lunch if you don't want it. I don't usually have anything except coffee til about 11am. But if you are hungry in the morning, fruit or slow release carbs (ie, porridge or wholegrain bread) are the answer! I don't trust cereal - all the ones that taste nice are just full of rubbish.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I know very few people who eat breakfast every day who are fat.

I eat breakfast every day and I'm skinny as a rake.....

I didn't mean that eating breakfast makes you fat per se, just that most breakfast foods are nowhere near as healthy as they're propogated to be. And that 'most important meal of the day' stuff is questionable (for adults anyway). If you're not hungry in the morning then it will do you no harm at all to not eat anything til lunch.
