Every so often the site loads up weird for me, like it has lost all of it's formatting. It's doing it now so I've taken a screenie -

Any ideas what I can do to solve this? (I'm guessing it's my machine and not the servers because no one else ever mentions it)

I suspect that your connection is dropping out occasionally and not retrieving the CSS file. When it occurs, a simple refresh should fix it. As for fixing it permanently, I'm not sure - it may just be a temporary problem with your ISP.

Usually refreshes don't fix it, nor does restarting Safari. It's working now though.
I'm not surprised its our ISP, We have no end of problems.

Thanks Console.

Is there a Mac equivalent?

Yeah, buy a PC.

(Actually, I think that works on a Mac too)

No, it's not working.
And you win the prize for the most predictable post by the way...

Actually, I think it might be Cmd and F5 on a Mac now that I play with one.

Hmm what IS the main difference between a Mac and a PC? I'm thinking of asking Father Christmas for a new laptop and am considering a Mac but not sure about it. Any thoughts?

The main difference now-a-days between a 'PC' and a Mac (they're both PCs, but the 'PC' doesn't have another name) is the operating system.

Its almost not that simple too. Macs these days run a flavour of Unix. Good PCs run a different flavour of Unix.

Bad PCs run Windows. Unix > Windows.

Ah now I know about Unix...it was mentioned in Jurassic park and can be operated by someone with the brain of a small child....I like the sound of that......

Mine uses Vista...which I personally don't see what the big fuss is all about.

I'm having the same problem as before and no matter of resetting and emptying the cache is working.
Any other ideas?

Thats a good point, I haven't experienced the problem in any other browser.
It might be time to finally switch to Firefox at last.

Big up Firefox! *cheers* Oh - and on the topic of browsers and operating systems, what is the deal with this Linux thing? When I buy my very own laptop (this is a hand-me down from my dad, which I semi-messed up when I went on a 'delete-everything-to-do-with-Microsoft' spree... oops...), I want to use this platform called Ubuntu. But; eeeeeveryone says that Linux is the way forward. Even the OpenOffice people, who you would've thought would stick up for their company instead of another one.

The penguin's cute, sure. But with the way Microsoft's made it seem like there really ARE no alternatives, how do you make the switch? There are soooo many things that are only Windows or IE compatable... 'tis annoying, sometimes.

Ubuntu is Linux, or at least a distribution of Linux.

Even though OpenOffice is owned by Sun, it is an entirely Open Source project, they don't have to pander to the whims of the company.

Other than Apple's OSX, Sun's Solaris, the numerous BSD's and the thousands of Linux distributions, there aren't really many alternatives.

Making MS Products seem like the only option is pretty much the only way the marketing department at Microsoft can sell Microsoft products.

How many of them do you use? Also, another Open Source project called Wine can be used to get a fair amount of 'Windows-only' apps to work on other systems.

Most people I know use a computer for the internet and writing letters. I'd say they use email, but they tend to be webmail so that comes under the internet.

Ubuntu's one of the easier Linux distros to install and use, it comes with OpenOffice which is easily compatible with MS Office documents, and it's got Firefox built in.

So far the only person I haven't been able to tempt to convert is my dad, because I've not found a decent equivalent to MS Money.

KMyMoney is pretty good - I don't know how it compares to MS Money (having not ever used it) but it works for me.

What are the advantages of a Linux distro over say OS X? I've often been tempted to have a play with one, but never know whether I'd end up with anything better than what I've already got...
