The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Has anyone noticed lately, whenever there is a bit on the show that is a bit "risque", (i.e. when carrie was at wimbledon on the mic, when chris was slapping Dom's head a few weeks back) the team always have to say that they are "enjoying" what's happening. At one point, I think it was when Dom was being slapped on his head, he said "I am enjoying this Andy (Parfait)"... Perhaps Moyles is being accused of bullying or something by the management... Probably not, but it's interesting though...

Yeah I noticed this. I doubt Andy has been accusing CM of bullying, as anyone who 'gets' the show knows it's not, and the team don't have to do anything they don't want to anyway.

Maybe someone complained or something, I don't listen to much of R1 other than CM, but it wouldn't surprise me if this was station wide.

Welcome to the site btw, did you join for the purpose of asking this?
Or have you been lurking for a while anyway.

I've noticed this too. Probably another edict from BBC Editorial Police... sorry, Policy. I doubt it's only for this show (unless they've had a warning) - more likely a blanket thing which, as usual, the team are sending up by deliberately over-exaggerating it.

That's the same with me, I only listen to chris so I don't know if it's a whole station thing, but I've noticed it quite alot on Chris' show. Yeah, i did join for the purpose of asking this - just wondered if it was just me who noticed it.

Hadn't really noticed to be honest. I've watched the video of Dave in the silver suit and he seemed be a good sport about it

They made Dave wear a blindfold and he had to guess what was in 5 boxes. The last one was maggots. At the end it turned out that he had been able to hear what Chris was saying to the listeners so they're making him do a game all weekfor cheating .

It is to do with this http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jun/24/bbc-standards-report
The BBC said today that "malicious intrusion, intimidation and humiliation" in its programmes was completely unacceptable, as it published a long-awaited report into taste and standards commissioned in the wake of the "Sachsgate" scandal.
BBC programmes must never condone malicious intrusion, intimidation and humiliation," the report said. "While they are all aspects of human behaviour which may need to be depicted, described or discussed across the BBC's factual and non-factual output, they must never be celebrated for the purposes of entertainment

I heard Matt Fincham say this morning that he was 'enjoying this' when they were taking the micky out of him. Summut must have been said then

There is no humiliation that Matt Fincham wouldn't claim to "enjoy" as long as it gets him on the air. He's a leech.

No. And why? He makes a massive point of putting himself in the spotlight at every opportunity - and manufacturing opportunities when none are there - and when you do that you need to accept that not everyone will think you deserve to be there.

I've never seen or heard him do that to be honest. Give me three examples of him putting himself in the spotlight and I'll be satisfied.

No. Your satisfaction or lack thereof is irrelevant to me.

1. I had a shower, but I didn't clean my Teeth.
2. Every twitter post
3. Bringing and playing with his organ.

Enough yet Matt?

At least back up what your saying. It's not nice to go around saying things about Matt, calling him a leech etc without a reason. If people are forced to read about your hatred of Matt, we at least deserve an explanation.

Boboff, * off I'm not Matt :D.
At least you put them in a nice list.

Those who put their heads above the parapet will from time to time find themselves getting shot at. Those who stand on the parapet waving their hands in the air and shouting "look at me" will get shot at even more.

If I were to give Matt Fincham the benefit of the doubt, I would say he should tone down his eagerness to get on the air and rechannel it into doing a decent job of helping to produce the show. The reality of it is - from what I've seen and heard on the show - he is incompetent at his main job, but quite happy to use the show to indulge his vanity and need for attention. In my opinion he is the weakest member of the team since 2002 (possibly ever, but I wasn't listening before then so can't judge).

EDIT: By the way jt78963, you're not "forced to read" anything on here. You are here out of your own choice, it therefore logically follows, to use your own elegant turn of phrase, that you are free to "* off" at any time.

Who is "forced" to read anything here? And by whom? And I am voicing an opinion - if I was presenting it as a universal truth which I insist EVERYONE must hold to, then asking me to back it up wiould be appropriate. Grow up you silly child.

And as for "hatred" - no, that's not something I have for anyone. Especially not someone so irrelevant as Matt Fincham.

You're right, I'm not 'forced to read' anything. I shouldn't have said it like that. And again, you're right, I am free to * off at any time. The reason I'm still here is because I'm a fan of the show, and because I agree with and appreciate 95% of the things people post on here.

Yudster- Yes you were voicing an opinion. And I asked you politely to give reasons. You didn't, so I wasn't satisfied. On the other hand, boboff did. Obviously you didn't have to give me reasons. I just wanted to know the specific reasons why people on here dislike Matt.
