Guy's to my surprise yesterday I tried to listen to a radio station streaming a live show on my brother in-laws iphone (bought 2 years ago) and Safari came up with an error message that it could not play the file.
It lead me to think will my new iphone3gs let me listen to the chris moyles show streamed on the radio1 website.
I mean it was part of the reason why I got the thing as work wont let me listen to the shows streamed on the radio1 website.
I don't get my iphone for another 2 weeks.
Is there an app I need to get or will safari be able to stream the show? 8)

icar radio lite is a free app you can get also, it wont let you listen again just to the live stream.

Ok I'm getting worried now, are you seriously telling me that I cant use the iphone to listen to the Chris Moyles show?
It is hard for me to listen live living in "Australia", the shows starts about 3.30pm here in Australia and I leave work at 5pm.
I can not see what is on the site "http://www.wunderradio.com/" as it is blocked when i'm at work.

So can I ask another question - has anyone using the new iphone3gs listen to the show via the "Listen Again" option. :( 8O 8)

Many people I know who have bought them tell me that there are many things you can't do with the iPhone that you would expect to be able to - mainly because you CAN do them with so many other phones. Its the kind of thing that happens when you let yourself get carried away by fashion and advertising.

The following is only for the truely geeky and overly addicted.

Get yourself an old pc, (you may have one lying around)
Put a freeview tv card in it.
Install linux and configure to record for 3:40 minutes from 6.25 on weekdays (the jo whiley handover is usually worth recording as well)
Configure RSync to automagically synchronise recorded mp3's with a fast server on t'interweb.
Download 3.5 hours worth of moyles and co to your mp3 player of choice *from anywhere in the world*

Great for killing long bus journeys around south east asia.

I know I'm a hopeless geek ;)

The next step I guess would be to torrentise said recordings and allow them to be heard by the masses but no doubt lawyers would attack if I did that. So I don't.

Also since they cut off two minutes from them (they used to be 3:32:00 but are now 3:30:00) the last link usually cuts off half way through :x

Funny how the old afternoon show used to finish bang on 5:45 most of the time yet the breakfast show over runs most of the time :D

Sorry dude didn't know you are in Australia I don't think the iplayer is gonna work for you on your iPhone 3G, im in NYC I haven't checked the mobile iplayer in ages but the address is http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer this only works in the UK its geo IP protected.

I listen to the show live sometimes on my iPhone via iCarRadioLite, but its live :(

That used to be the case. Nowadays they're up sometimes less than hour after the show ends. If there's funny banter, I sometimes grab Jo's show as well (later).

I used to do the Freeview thing, but IPDL is much easier.

That used to be the case less than a month ago - I don't think that we can say just yet that it is no longer the case.
