The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I am listening to Fearne Cotton and struggling desperately to follow the inane nonsense she spouts. The subject matter is bad enough but the words she uses! What are they all about?

"The" as a prefix to anyone's surname e.g. The Mills
Adding "age" as a suffix e.g. "presentage"

Is this how the yoof of today speak??!

"love it or lovin' it??? Email me!"

The most confusing question is why you are listening to her in the first place.

Yeah, I agree with Yuds, your first error is having Cotton on. I understand the need for something in the background, but maybe the last drawn out breath of a strangled workmate would be more pleasing to the ears..... Or a pneumatic drill? Fire alarm? Anything by basshunter? Cats fighting? Surely any or all of the above could be used instead?!

All the others you mentioned, maybe - that's too far though.

I usually switch to five live after Chris, but yesterday i kept it on Radio1.

I lost count of the amount of times she mentioned 'festive' and 'mulled wine', but * me did it do my head in.

and Greg's got just as annoying. He was brilliant on early breakfast, i dont know what's happened to him, i just cant listen to him anymore

the "times" one is annoying. so is when she says "action" as in "lets have some shopping action" or "a bit of pub action later"

also something a lot of the djs do is say "a bit of" that really annoys me. eg "a bit of paloma faith there" or "coming up after news weve got a bit of mumford and sons"

i generally cant listen to radio 1 now as i just find it way too annoying.

monkeyperth wrote:Fearne has just referred to her mum as "the mumatron". It's the thin end of the wedge :(

She calls her dad "papatron" too. She's been trying to turn those things into some kind of signature for years and years, but its really not catching on is it?
