The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues
#426193
Over the last few weeks. There have been several new posters coming on cm.net. and have lets say, put a few outspoken comments on here that have been responded to by several seasoned regulars.

It does seem wired that for twice in a week. Chris has mentioned cm.net in links and have referenced some of these posters.

The Hello i'm listening thread i think. And today, the pub meet was mentioned and responded too personally by chris himself.

i can't help think something fishy is going on.

someone is pointing these threads and posts out too chris. But is someone planting these threads and posts for chris too react as he is doing.
any thoughts.

If you check the Hello I'm Listening thread you'll see that that was started by a newbie who never returned quite late at night when obviously they may have realised that as no one else had started a thread they better do it and then Chris spoke about it the next morning even though the thread had only been up for about 10 hours

Oh for * sake......

Also, I don't think there is anything outspoken by my comments:

Everybody's thoughts on todays competition?

Thought it was brilliant radio, and they handled it really well, and all in good humour. Made for very funny radio. Would be surprised if the first person that was rejected doesn't complain...but to be fair he didn't seem bothered anyway.

What do you all think he said? I'm pretty sure he said "Hello i'm a listener"

Didn't say it was necessarily outspoken just it was a first post and you never responded after that and it can seem fishy sometimes especially for suspicious people like me

Oh, okay, fair enough. I may have misread the original poster when he said "Over the last few weeks. There have been several new posters coming on cm.net. and have lets say, put a few outspoken comments on here that have been responded to by several seasoned regulars."

Anyway, what did you all think of the Davina interview? Maybe she should have been kicked off for being late? Favouritism?

There have been a couple more first timers posting similar stuff.

And what I have heard so far sounds great but I don't think she should have been booted off. She's great for the show and it wasn't her fault and she's a friend to the show

How about this one.

Don't you think it's stupid that on Monday's listeners have to listen to Dave Dancing on Ice. When it's a radioooo show??

No it's funny. If you listened between half 6 and 7 they say that its deliberate

I think this is what's happening:

DOI is attracting a lot of newbies to the site and that's why there appears to be a higher concentration of threads started by newcomers than usual (as bmstinton pointed out on twitter last nite, it's not exactly normal to have 30-odd guests browsing the forum at 8pm on a Sunday)

Some of these people will have twigged that if they post something controversial they have more chance of getting mentioned on air, and they care about this more than us seasoned regulars

It's known that Chris does occasionally read the board and that Aled reads regularly, so it's no surprise that Chris is aware of what's being posted

And that's all there is to it.

(I also think that it's funny that they play the audio of Dave's dances. If you think they're playing it in seriousness, you need to reassess why you're listening to the show in the first place.)

Most valid argument I've heard yet on this subject!

Replaying daves skating on air is a genius move, more fool the tools that text in complaining it doesn't translate as audio.... It does to those that get it!

Well this site is on the public Internet; anyone can see it. Chris has known about this site for a long time (remember when he crashed it when he was in New York in the chat?) so I'm not surprised it gets mentions on the show. Same with UM and Scott. If anything it's good for traffic...
