Sara can't be available then. I like Vernon's Saturday show a lot, but it just doesnt work when he fills in for Moyles. He just clams up and everything feels awkward.

He should play more music and not try to emulate Chris.

What is Scott doing then? Not that I would prefer him, but he is contracted to cover Breakfast when needed and available, and Aled has always said that isn't going to change.

Perhaps it's the whole team but with Vernon. Which means Chris has got a week off. But god knows why, especially when in a few weeks they'll be off for Christmas.

I was sure Aled or somebody said we were having a run right up until Christmas.

It's the Royal Variety Performance here on that day - maybe he's doing something in that...?

This. Where's Coxxy? If it was her, I'd actually be looking forward to it. She brings something a bit different to the show than Chris, and it's always nice to have her as a brief change for a week here and there.

Vernon should play even more songs as far as I am concerned. Same goes for when Sara is in with the team. Very few people can do what Chris does and talk pretty much solidly from 06:30-07:10/15 and then more extended links for the next two-and-a-half hours.

If anything, the problem Vernon has is that he tries to replicate what Chris does, and that just isnt possible. Vernon's saturday show is a really good listen and he should just try to reproduce what he does there within a loose framework of a usual Moyles show.

I guess you're right. I just prefer the chat as opposed to listening to the Radio 1 Playlist while not all bad, isn't what I would listen to on a regular basis but I think you got that picture now from me on here. Sara can probably talk for a while although not everything she talks about is interesting and the week when it was just her and Dave wasn't great to be honest.

But at least it is only for the 2 days anyway and besides, tomorrow's show can't be worse than your typical Friday show.

I agree, I've just switched off already. You can't go at that speed at 6:30 in the morning, I didn't have a clue what they were on about.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, National Lampoons European Vacation and National Lampoons Annual Vacation (or it may have been titled "Vacation") they're films, they star Chevy Chase - you need to see them.

They're the pinnacle of cinema and quite simply brilliant.

Then they talked about Convoy.

Then Christmas trees and decorations.

It wasn't hard to follow.

I thought the opening link was great today. Vernon has in the past been a bit nervous and not great when he has sat in for Chris, but he was relaxed, and Dave, Dom and Tina all stepped up and it was great. Especially Vernon's mum breaking her arm "Ok, we need an ambulance" - "no, no - just get me a cup of tea love..."

I listened while I was getting ready for work, but then I started to lose the will and downloaded a show from this time last year to listen to whilst on my journey in. Vernon is okay, but only okay.
