The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

It looks like a guestfest this week & i was dismayed to hear that this morning.
While i didn't mind David Guetta this morning, as we found out a few months ago that he seems like a genuinely funny & nice fella, but i dread Grizzled Tits or whatever they're called tomorrow, so it looks like 6music for me after eight.
Wednesday will be a mixed bag as Alan Sugar is usually worth a listen but David Tennant is a bit of an arse.
As for the rest of the week, i can't remember who exactly is on but i know they didn't fill me with any great enthusiasm when i heard the announcement.

I just love a plain old CMS, no guests , no corporate arse kissing but plenty of Moyles show fun & bullshitting. It seems to have been an age since we got a run of them.
Is that too much to ask for?

From what I've seen they seem to have no guests on for a while and then have loads on at certain times of the year...which makes sense if you think about Christmas time etc.

The katy perry thing got more plugging than hackney this morning, ridiculous. Can't stand the girl, oxygen thief.

They're getting giddy now tho anyway, time for hols.

I am glad someone else thinks that. For years now I have listened to every minute of every show either live or on iplayer, and I have downloaded all of the shows in this sites archive, but I haven't listened to a whole show in over a week now, which apart from the Olly Murs and John Bishop weeks is unthinkable for me.

I am just finding the show to be rather annoying at the moment. Giddy is probably a decent way to describe it. I don't know whether it is because I have been listening to a lot of old shows recently and I am comparing now an then too much, or whatever it is (there are a few things I would change), but I just haven't been enjoying the show at all recently.

Hopefully a couple of weeks holiday will put things right.

If its a good guest then its good for the show in my opinion. Guetta is always good and the others lined up this week are half decent so it should be ok.

Yep me too I hate guests I understand the reasoning behind why they have them on but almost without exception make me turn off for the duration of the interview. It'll be Composer of The Week for me on iPlayer (yep I'm so 'target' :D ).

It really pissed me off when Aled stated just how many guests will be on, as it means I will have to find something else to listen to for large chunks of the show this week. I don't understand why they overload on guests some weeks when they must know that there's a proportion of listeners who much prefer the show on days without guests. And why on earth do they need to have two guests on during one show?

I like the guests. I like the interviews. I like it when Chris has a laugh with someone who isn't normally part of the show. I like it when they have a difficult guest.

Same here, I don't like a lot of the guests they have on (Alan Sugar again, zzzzz) but I don't switch off, I just leave my earphones in and read Twitter or something.

I'm finding recent shows lacking, not as good, doesn't help with tedious link pretty much ignored and CCP these days rubbish keeping callers on longer than they need to be without even playing the game. But also guests, guetta was okay last time, but just switched off between 8 and 9, just not interested in him or his crappy music, but the rest of the week doesn't bode well, looks like less show to listen too, lets hope thing improve after the Easter break.

Heard bits when Chris did Greg's show, I don't know whats worse her mediocre talent or her fans who seemed like brain dead drones laughing at everything she said.

They're getting giddy now tho anyway, time for hols.

Thought the Guetta interview today was terrible, frankly. There was a point after about 10 minutes where all you heard was Guetta laughing weakly at some of Chris and Dave's comments. Was Guetta even there to promote anything, or was it just part of a Hackney Weekend final push. Either way, it all seemed empty - once Chris and Dave had worn away the same old French accent and intro gags that they had when Guetta was last in (6 months ago?!), then there was nowhere to go. At least if you're going to get a guest on with nothing to plug, make sure it's a comedian or someone who can add some real entertainment to the show.

Speaking of guests, I've heard a couple of references to Dave being off soon, possibly for a week. Christ, I hope Olly sodding Murs isn't on for another week - if he is, than that's the first Moyles shows I've purposefully missed ever.

* you, cheeky bastard. I'm exceptionally happy this evening. Finished moving into my new house. Had a soak in the tub. Drank some frothy cold ones to help ease those achy muskles. All tickety-boo here sir.

I think the feeling is we just want the basics that make the show unique, Chris and the team chatting/banter with good features, CPC, pub quiz and tedious link etc (when done correctly) were very happy with that. We just not keen on corporate crap like milking Hacking every 5 mins or recycling guests like yesterday which seemed to just recycle old jokes that had been done 6 months earlier with Guetta!! why was he on, seemingly nothing to promote/plug!!!

I'm not too bad, I should take into account that Chris is under the weather at present so naturally he cant be his spontaneous best.

But weirdly I enjoyed Guetta, I liked the fact no-one really knew what was going on for the giddyness stated above, one thing this show does well is milk a gag where otherwise wouldve been well past it's sell by date.

Heard a fair bit including when Chris announced he'd 'done' something and we will go 'Ahh!' when we realise what it is, he said in the next 6 months, so incase I am right I will guess in small letters....

I agree. I was actually cringeing listening to it.

I don't like it when they have a guest on each day of the week as the podcast (won't call it free download) will be just be all of that stuff pretty much and most of it is boring. I didn't listen to all of the David Guetta stuff but before they did that guess the song from the intro game again, which was already done when he was last in so I assumed the interview was pretty much the same. I liked him when he was on last time but if it was the same shtick then it was probably mediocre. Some guests I find more interesting to listen to than others and hence if they're not interesting to me, I can always skip them when listening to the archive edits. John Cleese I wouldn't have expected to enjoy his interview as much as I did last year but I did since he had interesting stories to tell whereas someone like Rizzle Kicks I couldn't care less about since I don't like their songs and is just one of those "target audience" guests in my eyes.

Like I said in the other thread, I am enjoying the old 2004 shows a lot more than what has been on recently although I am glad they are edited since man, back then they played certain songs to death (Jojo's Leave (Get Out) being one from the August/September shows). I enjoyed the features the way they were as well since CPC nowdays I don't even bother listening to for the most part since they have the callers on longer than they should be and when was the last really memorable CPC guest? There was one from 2004 I listened to who was a right idiot called Lee who branded himself the saviour of CPC. He's been more memorable to me than the past 6 months contestants pretty much despite the fact I only started listening to the 2004 shows late last year.

The first thing I thought of was that he was filming an appearance in the upcoming Keith Lemon movie, which I believe will be out around August, so it would fit in with the 6 months comment. On his Twitter account, Leigh Francis was thanking various celebrities he'd been filming with over the weekend, such as Gary Barlow, Emma Bunton etc. He didn't mention Chris, but if Chris wants it to be a surprise (provided he's not left on the cutting room floor of course) then he may have asked him not to. And Chris did say it was 'very weird', which you can bet that anything involving Keith Lemon would be!

Righto, i'm confirming this guest fest is great. Dunno what the problem is, I've now listened to the DG interview and that was great, and I'm currently listening to Shug's and he's been great too.

Too many guests? No, no and thrice no.
