So, the list of nominations for the Sony Awards is out. http://radiotoday.co.uk/2012/03/sonynoms/

Quite surprising list this year...no nomination for the Moyles Show, Radio 1 nominations seem to be thin on the ground!

More 6Music nominations this time around, which is very good news :D

I do take slight offence to Fearne Cotton being nominated for 'Best Music Show' though, hopefully Steve Lamacq will beat her.

Sorry.Didnt see it.I suppose they'll be merged shortly.

Evans has 2 nominations again. How did he go from being infant terrible to the golden boy of British radio?! I bet Chris Moyles would love to know his secret!

Shocked Chris and the team have nowt, I think this the first time his show has had zero nominations, ridiculous since somehow Cotton has a nomination for Best Music Show, what a joke, I too hope Lamacq wins too

Nothing short of a scandal really. Can't quite believe the Marathon show wasn't nominated for something - a massive feat of radio.

I always feel like Chris Moyles lives and breathes radio, he is so passionate about the show and even when he's moaning there are few places he'd rather be than at the desk. I feel Chris Evans doesn't particularly care about radio, always seems to want to be somewhere else and is much less inclusive of his audience.

You've go to hope that the powers that be see a Sony snub as a sign they're doing something right - anti-establishment (or at least as anti-establishment as it's possible for the BBC to be).

Read either of his books, especially the first one 'It's Not What You Think', and find out just how untrue that is. I've never listened to a full Evan's radio show, but I know just how passionate he is about radio purely from reading his excellent books. As for Moyles not getting a nomination, part of me does think it's a shame, but then another part of me feels that the show really hasn't been at its best for a while and so doesn't particularly deserve one this time around.

If there was a category that fit that show then I agree it should be nominated. I don't know whether there is though.

As for Chris Evans and his love of radio - I can see why, given the evidence of his Radio 2 show, people would think he isn't bothered. Like Emmy though, I know enough about Evans to know that isn't the case - and that is what's so upsetting to me about that show. He is going through the motions, its lazy, lazy radio. I know he is less free to do what he can do on R2 but he is nowhere near what he could be doing with the Breakfast show. I get the feeling that he is turning up and collecting the money - which I gather is a lot, even for someone as wealthy as Chris Evans. If all I knew about him was the R2 Breakfast Show, I would think he wasn't bothered about radio too. The fact that I know he is passionate about radio above any other broadcast media makes the whole breakfast thing very sad.

Who needs a Sony Nomination!!!!

We all know that Chris is the best around and no awards or critics can say so. He is more than a stupid award. Did Chris Evans raise all that money for comic relief or be on the air for 52 hours???. The answer is no.

Stuff the sony's I say

Why all up in arms about it?

If he doesn't receive something in his 10th year then that's the time to go apeshit.

I agree, stuff em, if he could host it then I would find that unmissable.

Big congrats to Fearne cotton who has just won her first ever sony award..and its a gold award too, for best music show. There's no doubt that she has gone from strength to strength since taking over from Jo Whiley and clearly has a very long and prosperous future ahead of her at Radio One.

Blimey, Ben has expressed an opinion!

Fearne Cotton has improved a lot in the last six months or so so good luck to her. I have never rated her as a DJ but I like her from the little I know of her as a person, so well done.

Cant help but feel that the Sony's are pointless though. talkSPORT won station of the the year last year for goodness sake! I just think the Sony's are handed out on a random or rotation basis. I take very little notice of them.

There is quite a lot of doubt over that to be fair. In fact, she's dreadful at radio and TV - always has been, always will be. Also, her mate Holly Willoughby is awful on the box too.
