He never out and out announced it this time round because of his kid probably. They split last year or late 2010.

It was a really quick passing comment today and not sure if it was just a joke that I missed out on while away but someone said that Dave was ‘single’ have I missed something?

Silly useless question but just made me wonder as i know they comment about Dave's multiple weddings a fair bit.

Yeah I listen every day and download the podcast LOL. But i only get to listen to 45 mins of the show each morning so it's very likely why i have missed

Yes, same here. In fact I had no idea he and Jayne had split until I read it here the day of the announcement of the show ending. I feel oddly gutted.

It's easy to miss of your only able to listen to 45 odd minutes of the show a day. Not everyone on here are super geeky Moyles Show fans!

Although I would consider myself super geeky, I only found out when I randomly stumbled across it on Dave's Wikipedia page.

With the amount of extra work Dave's doing I'm guessing Jayne is milking him dry after the divorce! Must have been a messy one. typical women!!! (im just bitter from experience LOL)

They tweet, retweet and mention each other pretty often - doesn't sound messy at all to me, on the contrary, they seem very amicable.

He did release a statement when it happened, and I think in it he said they would stay friends after the divorce.

Beyond Child Support, I think its highly unlikely that Jayne would have any legal claim to anything else from Dave. She probably earns as much if not more than he does. They would probably have needed to come to some arrangement about the family home, and that might have been an expensive exercise, but the concept of women being able to bleed men dry is a bit inaccurate for the vast majority of cases.

Is this really a thread that should still be going? He's single. He's not single. In my eyes that's a very personal thing to Dave and should remain outside of this site and outside of our thoughts.

Given that it's anecdotally known that Dave is uncomfortable with the site speculating about the intimate details of his private life (and possibly providing papers with quotes coming from 'fans' about his situation), I'd say it's best not to bring topics like these up unless they're relevant to the show, or at the very least a new development.

Dave's been single for a while now. He's friends with Jayne and they both feel it's important for Nicole that they do things together (from Jayne on twitter). That's the full scope of the public knowledge of the situation.

That was the point I was trying to make in the other thread when people started making guesses about Dave's earnings. It isn't against the rules, but I don't feel comfortable with it knowing that Dave isn't a fan of it/us. But in this case, I think the OP was just under the impression that Dave and Jayne are still together and got a bit confused. I don't think they were trying to start speculation on who he's seeing now or the terms of his divorce(s).

I confess myself very curious about why Dave and Jayne split up. Their relationship, engagement, wedding and the birth of their daughter was all talked about on the show so of course I feel interested, and I'm only human so of course I feel curious. Unfortunately uninformed speculation gets me no nearer to knowing that though, so even if it weren't somewhat "off" in context, its utterly pointless anyway.
