The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, so I thought I'd start a new topic...

First off, fan-bloody-tastic to hear Carrie this morning, I've missed her. Secondly, I'm pretty sure Rachel was going off to be Executive Producer of Weekends, so I was very surprised when they said Jocelyn is doing that now... does anyone know if I'm mixed up or if Rachel did actually do that and has since moved on (promotion or left the BBC)? Speaking of Jocelyn, was very nice to hear her again as well - I was surprised, as I did actually think they were going to be introducing Rachel. Was nice to hear Juliette again as well, didn't realise she only did nine months - she's doing well for herself now though!

All in all, brilliant to hear the old voices again.

yes, yes, yes, what T-pain says rings so true, Jocelyn was great, Carrie was (is) better and I too have missed her so so much, today merely served as a reminder of how great she was (is). Posh n Dutty, nigh on perfect. I honestly can't wait for Rachel, I was one of the few who genuinely enjoyed her Kiddy twang, soo excited about that.

Rachel was indeed doing that, but she's still on maternity. She is planning to return to work soon, but I can't remember in what capacity. I'll check!

Sounds like a euphemism.

I absolutely loved Carrie this morning despite the fact I've listened to Tina's stint longer live since I started listening to the show in July 09 but listening to the podcasts and older shows makes me like the former more and hearing her today shows how much I missed her! Nothing against Tina but I don't think she has made quite an impact for some people like Carrie & in some cases, Juliette has. Made for an entertaining hour on today's show. Have a soft spot for Jocelyn because of her voice, which I find very cute!

I thought the same thing when Jocelyn said she is doing weekends as exec producer! Knew she was still there since I heard her on the Chris & Scott Hackney weekend show.

I like Rachel's accent & when Chris mocks it! Will be looking forward to that hopefully when she comes on soon!

I never really liked Carrie, but it actually was nice hearing her this morning. At least she hasn't acquired a frothy-bevy accent like Juliette!

Turns out Rachel is moving to exec produce daytimes on 1Extra when she goes back to work next month. So now we know!

I would have thought Carrie was too good to have at this stage- I hope her and Rachel make an appearance on the Thursday show.

1xtra is a bit random but I imagine a promotion from weekends! Can you imagine Rachel getting into Dancehall and Grime?

Knew it... Rachel'll be well suited to 1Xtra - she's maxi-urban, jus' like me.

"Time to drop the bomb, Tim" (as in Westwood, not dimjim)

More seriously, I'm pleased to know her plans, sure she'll excel at dem too.

I've often thought this. Lucky Tom.

It was only in Carrie's final couple of years on the show that I warmed to her.

Only heard the opening link to todays show so I'm looking forward to listening back to the full thing later and seeing what feelings I get from hearing her again.

I loved her leaving show. That was a highlight.

I couldn't stand Carrie but when she grew on me she rapidly became my favourite team member. I still don't know what changed - I think I probably just came to my senses.

Its a shame they're coming back on the show for longer, like maybe a week, or even just a whole show. Rachel and Carrie should have come back together, too.

It would be a shame to just have Rachel on for one segment of the show. It would be fitting if she produced a whole show before the end.

Yes. I thought that too. Cant see it happening, but it would be great if it did. Haven't heard how long Carrie was on for today, but if Rachel is in for just 20 mins or so I will be disapointed.

I hope they've got some surprises lined up, they're getting the reunions out the way quicker than I thought, am still hoping Carrie and Rachel can be back in studio like old times - it is the famous zoo format afterall, see what the final week brings asides from what we already know is happening.

Feels like when Concorde was axed, I'm savouring every last minute of the CMS in flight before it lands for the final time..

It's also like the space shuttle retirement last year, I watched both the last two launches when I wouldn't normally bother with them.

And as for having the old team back on the show for longer, it might put Tina's nose out of joint to have her predecessor on the show for the duration of the programme. After all, Tina's the sports reader now, Carrie isn't any more.

I mean in terms of contribution and longevity, I still think it would be nice to have them both in at the same time, they were around for the majority of the show's life - the heyday, and it would be nice hearing those voices in union one more time.

But mainly in that post I was just pondering the idea of there being more surprises, ie - 'not going quietly..' etc. I presume though that there will be just a bit of time left to relive the funny bits and rants and parodies once the packages have all been played, and that would be good.

It would be good if Sam returned. Her singing voice was incredible 8O

He has worked on the show, but I'm not sure if he's ever produced breakfasts or not. Someone will have a better memory than me for this stuff.

Will did do some shows back in 04-05 from the archived shows I've listened to but that was when Rachel wasn't in due to sickness or something else so he held the producer helm I guess at those times!
