I think someone has made this comment already on this board, but I feel it needs to be reiterated; If female artists/bands are so good, then why does every, and I mean every, single one of them attempt to sell their music through sex. Either provocative dancing, Low-cut dresses and suggestive little smiles. I mean I was watching the new Atomic Kitten single today, and I saw in it one of the girls took her coat off, to reveal the oh-so subtle sight of her norks almost bursting out of top.
And I rest my case with this final statement: Are their any female singers who are not generally regarded as being sexy?

sex sells records.. yes i've heard that before. did you think it was just purely by the fact that they have good singing voices? record companies market the band in all areas, some of which cross over. so what if it does, if your a good looking bloke or women in a band then your going to get fans, which in turn will buy everything with your face and voice on... superfan.

Alanis was naked for the imagery of the song, not to turn people on. There's a different context to being considered sexy, and flaunting sexy.

Aren't you forgetting the amount of blokes who use sex to get teenage girls to buy their songs? Westlife, five, the spawn of satan Blue, Gareth Gates, even my lovely, sexy, amazing Robbie Williams though I hate to admit it. I could go on. It's not all the girls, and in the cases of Alanis and Dido, I buy their records and thats nothing to do with how they look. You can only judge a pop stars song by the amount of sales from the people of the same sex, how many blokes on here brought a song by Gareth Gates or Blue?
