Cubase is basically a mixing desk and hard dsik recorder for your computer - a studio in a box so to speak. It allows you to add and layer as many tracks of audio or midi you want and then play them in sequence over the top of each other at a set tempo. For the guitar one I started by laying down a drum track (Plugged my keyboard into the computer, pressed play on the keyboard and record on cubase and then the drums were edited (Reverb and eq added etc) next I set up my bass amp with a bass mic and recorded me playing the bass line over the drums, then this was edited and when played back you can hear the drums and bass (you set the levels on a virtual mixer accordingly) Next I recorded me playing my guitar through my amp etc etc etc...you get the picture - just liek what they'd do in a studio altough their set up would be far bettre, better mixing desk, better effects better everything. I di the same sort of thing, layering tracks etc for the other three I did except they were all midi tracks instead of Wav files- basicallyCubase is a muli track recorder that can handle as many audio tracks as your memory/computer can handle playing simultaneously - its quite a lot of work to produce just short pieces like I have which is why Chris mocks me for having too much spare time! ;)

Lecture over, hope you understand more now!
