Are there any other Radio1 listeners who think that Emma B is absolute pants. It can be enjoyable and entertaining when DJ's such as the legend Moyles talk about their personal lives but when Emma B attempts to.......yyyaaawnnnnn. Did any one hear her whining about her new washing machine the other day??? Who gives a damn about her domestic appliances!!! Looks like i'll be listening to cross rythyms radio broadcasts or my best of dave pearce compilation albumn for the next few weeks.

As female presenters go Emma B is alright, compare her to Nemone, Whiley, Cox etc.

I agree she can be annoying but her plus point is she's not a slapper!!!! :)
I do find it strange though, that she hardly ever mentions her husband - the way she talks you'd think she was single!
On tv she isn't that good either. But she isn't that bad...
xx

Yeah but she appears on some great nostalgia documentaries. Like Top 100 Best Number 1's of All Time.
GREAT!
Best series like that though is I Love 19--

Emma B was I love 1981 talking away like it was yesterday- She must have been about 5.
What does the b stand for anyway. I could give a few examples

You took the words right off of my keyboard. Emma B is super pants! She just talks drivel, and is not funny. Pets that do funny things, come on thats some tv show from the early eighties. Will and Lizzie sound like they do not want to be there.
Also I think that Chris should take the mystery years from Mayo when he goes.

Is she getting paid on commision for every time she plugs Radio 1 Essentials? She seems to go on about it every 10 minutes!
Paul.

On the Radio 1 web site in Emma B's biography it says this:
Emma’s first radio experience was on Radio Oxford in 1977
This would mean that she would remember 1981 and would not have been 5 then cos that would make her 1 in 1977. this has puzzled me though...... making her first radio experience she must have been at least 10, probably older, which would make her older than I thought she was.Anybody know how old she is?
Eddie

i really can't stand her. So blimen unfunny. When i listened to her on wednesday i felt so sick and annoyed to think that she just wasted two hours of my life.
'My dogs really great, he goes in the water and fetches his stick...'
Well my dogs been doing that for the past 14 years. So I can't really say that i find your predicament very intresting Ms B. I bet she talks about her water boiler on todays show.
'yeah, the water was tepid at first...but then it got really hot......how great is that??'

Come on everybody Emma B is not that bad. She's not the same as Moyles and she's not pretending to be. Lets face it, we could've had 2 weeks of Scott Mills or Jo Whiley or Nemone or The Dreem (learn to spell u w***ers) Team or Dave Pearce or Sarah HB or basically anyone on Radio 1 except Mark and Lard, Moyles, Mayo, Peel and Lamacq.

v. good point there. emma b isn't that bad compared to that lot! Nice to hear someone else doesn't like the dreem team- they get on my nerves...just like jo whiley, sara coz, nemone (what sort of name is that?!) and everybody else listed in the last post.
Nemone was good when she was on my local, and that name - there was a history behind it, but I have forgotten!
And though I do dislike Jo Whiley et al, I think Scott Mills is better than Emma B.
xx

Nemone is cack, so is Jo Whiley. Sarah HB is ok, Sara Cox is ok-ish, but she goes on about her (unfunny) dog too damn much. Scott Mills is pretty good. Mark & Lard, Mayo and Moyles are the only decent DJ's at R1.

Nemone on Galaxy was alright. I remember The G Spot (there before the sunday surgery) that I used to listen to. Is that still on? Coz I listen to Boyd or Jezza on sunday nights now.
Oh and who is an old Talk Radio fan? Because friday was so nostalgic with Chris Ashley on...awww, memories.

TRUK - I want it to come back - why wont it?
All I wanted was Chris to say Talk Radio, play the jingles, James H on saturday and Mike Dickin on weekend overnights - why not?

Talksport is better than talk radio - But them shock jocks like Moyles are just lame copies of the true pioneer - Mr James Whale- controversy at it's best. I wake with Talksport and I don't have to buy a new clock radio anymore.

Oh I don't like shock Jocks..I mean James Whale is good at his 'tell it like it is', but at the same time they can p*ss me off...like Chris Evans pre-pole-slightly-removed. I can listen and be amused at certain times, but highly frustrated at others..but hey, we're not goin' there, this is a family board :)
xx
actually, 5 live can be ok too.
[This message has been edited by Kate (edited 07 February 2001).]
