Unless I'm going blind I'm sure there's a Saturday Show missing from the archive from Nov 2000, unless that was one I took off last time I ran it becausr Ibwas going to upload in better quality.

When I get my new laptop next month I'll see if I can get a plug in amp for it to finally copy the last 6-10 Afternoon Shows I have, warning they're only the first 1hr 45mins.

Also I need to get hold of a hard drive port, I can't remember but I may have been downloading shows as early as 2008 (although it could be 2009/10, I have 3 old hard drives to check)

Out of interest what shows are you missing from 2008, so when I get round to it I can check.

Yeah sorry about that, from 18th Sept 2001-the first Breakfast show I had my bass and treble turned up to full and unlike cassette recordings on my hifi (which cancelled out the bass and treble on the tapes) the Mini Disc recorder connect via Aux so the bass and treble unforunately copied over.

ianpwilliams wrote:Aled got back to me - apparently they don't have it! Although he said he will look very hard this week just in case.

What the first ever show, bloody hell sounds a bit like the situation they have with all the missinh Hartnell/Troughton episodes of Doctor Who.

Incidently what did Aled say about the Afternoon Shows, I'd love to hear more from 2002 (we only have 6 shows) and although 2000, 2001 & 2003 are incomplete there's a fair amount from those two years.

Personally I'd love it if Aled could lend us Lizzie's last show and Aled's first afternoon show for us to make copies of, not sure if anyone else on here would. At present the latest Lizzie show we have is August 2002 (which I believe wasn't that long before she left) and Aled's earliest show is December 2002 so it'd be nice to have both their last and first shows respectively.

Last thing could anyone tell me what was Carrie's first show please, I'd like to hear her first appearance.

Cheers :-)

As far as I can tell there are no shows missing from 2008.

As for Carries' first show, That was Monday 18th October 2004.

Well, it's not a disaster about the first breakfast show, it's perfectly listenable. I de-amplified it a touch (not a real word) in Wavepad and it helped a bit.

Ah ok apologies I misread your post thinking he had had a look my mistake

However if he does say we can only have a few Afternoon shows it would be great to get Lizzie's last show and Aled's first show in the archives, and considering how trigger happy the BBC are with the archive they're two shows I'd love to have a copy of here in our archive

Oh that's OK then, is it 2009 then if so I'm sure I have quite a few of those somewhere.

Thank you for the date of Carrie's first show, another one to download tonight :)

I did try to cut down the bass and treble via audacity but didn't have much luck at the time unfortunately

How many recordings do we have of that first show then? One of yours and one of Mike's? Wasn't there another one in the Sound Vault years ago as well? That's another show I always thought I had recorded at the time, yet can't find anywhere.

Ok I'll ask him if we can get those two shows. The specific list I sent him was:

1 - The afternoon shows (working backwards from the last one). We were thinking that it would be best to work backwards from the last afternoon show, just because that was apparently when it was at its most similar in style to the breakfast show.

2 - Our worst-quality breakfast shows (2004 and January-April 2005). These are apparently the worst-quality ones we have (I think some might even be mono!).

3 - Saturday shows

4 – “The Early Bit”

5 - The seven incomplete breakfast shows that we know of, which are:

Wednesday 12th November 2008: Alisha Dixon (Incomplete)
Thursday 13th November 2008: Jimmy Carr (Incomplete)
Tuesday 25th November 2008 (Incomplete)
Tuesday 2nd December 2008: Justin Lee Collins (Incomplete)
Wednesday 3rd December 2008 (Incomplete)
Thursday 4th December 2008: Jeremy Clarkson (Incomplete)
Tuesday 9th December 2008 (Incomplete)

Are those the incomplete ones Slaphead?

To be fair, I would have been happy if we just got afternoon shows, because it sounds like they were the most similar in style to the breakfast show. But let's see what he says.

All I know of is my copy and possibly Mike's, Will's last show is available in the vault in 22 parts but other than that I'm not sure.

The December ones are the worst. Novembers are not worth hassleing Aled with.

No longer - I edited all those into one file and reuploaded it (I must have been bored one day). It isn't the complete show though - I seem to recall I chopped out a bit of a long and really quite dull chat with that bloke who presented Celebdaq (remember that?)

Are you guys keeping these files uploaded and is it possible to download all the ones i've missed once I get my internet back on?

Thanks
