understand your point but i think once everyone has to watch digital tv then i think it will become either a commercial or subscription service

yeah for tv but the licence fee is used for radio and website as well. how can you make the radio subscription based? you cant

I actually do think that the BBC do a pretty good job. I trust them to be objective, reliable etc...

I'm happily suprised by the results of this poll. I think the BBC is needed and hope for the sake of the news programmes alone it stays around. You only have to see American News channels or Sky News to see that Commercial news channels have an agenda with every story they cover.
