People slag Bernard Manning off because of his racist, sexist, homophobic and insert-your-own-ist jokes, and they're absolutely right to, but on the positive side he did help raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities all across the UK.

For this alone he deserves a small modicum of respect.

He was also somebody's father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Let's not forget that either.
