Iain whilst my sympathy goes out to the family, this is not the place for 24 HOUR BREAKING NEWS!
I love nothing better than going on American news sites, they really rev my engine when it comes to news and keeping up to date, what Brian Williams does every weekday is great, World News with Charles Gibson is what I like to watch before going to sleep and the fun of the Today Show with Meredith and Matt is what I listen to on the way home from work. News has its place which is anywhere but here on this forum!

But I come on Chrismoyles.net to get away from the news and general madness which is out there, some may call it escapism, call it what you will but I do not want to have posts everytime someone dies or is rushed to hospital, I have BBC News 24 for that kind of thing. Lets keep Chrismoyles.net free from all that breaking news crap!

News about The Chris Moyles Show = YES
24 Hour Breaking News = NO

If his family don’t know how to arrange the funeral they may put ads in the paper" Kelp-wanted" to arrange the funeral and hopefully he left enough money for the funeral otherwise they may need to go to the loan shark :D

Whilst I happen to agree that the death of Arthur C Clarke is something I am interested in and am sorry to learn of his passing (he invented the satelite doncha know, although by the same token I invented the iPod) it does make me wonder one thing about Iain...

Well, in keeping with the fish puns and celebrity death vibe of this thread I feel I should point out that the man who played the original Captain Birdseye died yesterday.

Am I the only one who thinks that adverts featuring an old man leading a group of small children back to his boat with the promise of fishy treats probably wouldn't get on TV these days?

What about a sticky 'Oh no, they've died?' thread? It might at least restrict it to one place while providing the information for people who use chrismoyles.net as their main source of international death-related news.

That would work, or AkA - the Zenon thread...

That's a good idea. On another forum I used there's a thread called "today we mourn the passing of..." it means you can post about the loss of your pets, plants etc as well as celebrity deaths.

Zenon would certainly ignore it and post his own thread; he never posts in anything started by anyone else.

I don't think the one thing that ChrisMoyles.net needs Is a " Death Thread " Maybe that Is a little to depressive.
