I wasn't being intentionally rude/stupid, Yuds. I had mis-understood that the lady interviewing was about to ask me something else, and I already had my gear together. That's all.

I have no difficulty in believing that - you are many things Viv, but rude isn't one of the obvious ones!

I don't think a fight-or-fight response would make for a particularly good interview, unless you would class entertaining as good. No, I don't think that adrenaline, a chemical substance that reduces ones capacity for rational thought, is a particular good thing to have flowing around in your veins during an interview.

Hmm normal, philosophers have debated it for years and not come up with an answer. I'm not normal just like everybody else.

Normal is subjective from one society to another. What we consider normal others wouldn't and vice versa. Also with society there are sub sections as well which have their own rules within the broader societies rules. No-one tells us these rules they are just what everyone around us does so we do the same or if we feel strongly about something, seek out other like minded individuals and form a sub society with them.

Thanks to the Internet these sub societies can cross cultural and political boundaries previously linking previously like minded people in a way never before possible. This site is a great example of that. Newbies either follow our unwritten (and some written) rules or they either leave or get forced to leave. However in any section of society there will always be a few with some major quirks or eccentricities which so long as they are innofensive and not related to any adjoining or rival societies mannerisms then they are tollerated AS harmless eccentricities but on the whole that person is still accepted.

Guess who's been reading social anthropology books!

It's fascinating to apply that observation to this site.
