the non stop 'adverts' seem very OTT- even repeating what the DJ has just said during their own own.

I disagree - I like hearing how they're doing. Perhaps the trails are slightly frequent, but at the end of the day they're trying to raise money and looking at the amounts, it seems to be working.

Most people who listen won't listen to as much of the show as us lot are likely to. They need to keep plugging it because people tune in and out at different times.
It would be foolish to stop plugging the Red Nose Climb so much, as the Radio 1 audience has donated so much of the money.
Annoying to regular listeners, perhaps, but it's necessary.

I donated when the appeal first opened weeks ago, and I can't donate by text at all - but I say keep plugging it. The whole point of this week is the climb, keep it at the centre of attention and get as much money in as possible. I think its exciting.

I donated when I got paid and I have ended up posting once a day so far this week by text. I'm in work an hour early for the rest of the week, but I'm hoping to hear any possible live updates they may have from Chris, which will more than likely prompt me to text again.

See if I donate through the Radio One website, does it get added into their total? Cos it linked me to another BBC page.

I'm not a fan of this texting thing - id rather donate the cost of the message to them than pay it to O2.

Ditto. I love the Red Nose Day climb tweets on Twitter. They're so visually descriptive. It's brilliant. They keep us all in the loop and make us feel a part of this monumental task. Plug away!

It's for a good cause so I've no objections, now if it was an ad for DFS on the other hand then indeed GO AWAY!!!

I donated a few weeks back, the first time I had (minus buying the usual nose/badge of course)

Erasmus is really pissing me off. They haven't given me my grant yet, meaning I cannot donate. I can barely pay the rent and feed myself. Shitey European Commission and Aberdeen uni.

Have you any idea how many listeners Radio 1 has? - Not everyone has donated yet.

Chris is not doing this for fun he's trying to raise money!

I gotta admit, there is maxi coverage of this climb, which can sometimes seem a little repetative, but as already stressed, it is for a fantastic cause - and its not like Chris bothers us for charitable causes every month of the year..... Yes, a bit OTT on the ad bombardment, but it'll all be over soon and its aiding those less fortunate than us.....

Plus bigblue2brighton, when complaining about repetition, don't finish that same said sentance with..... repetition!!!

I've actually met Chris n shook his hand. This fact is still causing slight issues in my trouser dept.... :wink:

I'm gonna stick my neck out and admit that I've heard enough about the climb now. But I understand that they need to keep plugging and raising money so I'm happy enough to turn off when I get a bit bored of it.
