So... I was listening to Michael Jacksons 'Smooth Criminal' yesterday and was singing along. I looked up the song lyrics on the t'interweb as there's a bit of the song i didn't know and i was amazed to find that the lyrics i've been singing all this time are wrong!! I've been singing "Eddie are you ok" and apparently it's "Annie are you ok?" For years i've been singing the wrong thing! I just wondered if any of you have done similar, or am i the only idiot?

There's that Lily Allen song from her second album that I originally thought went -
"I want lots of clothes and * loads of diamonds
and I hope people die when they're trying to find them"
I remember thinking 'thats harsh!'

I'd hardly call you an idiot, but I've always known it was Annie haha. It does sound cooler than Eddie.

I knew it was Annie too :)

This topic comes up a lot on TV etc and one people always cite is the Hendrix lyric "'scuse me while I kiss the sky" being mistaken for "'scuse me while I kiss this guy", oh how funny it is that people would think he's singing that, etc etc. They always, always omit to say that Hendrix himself used to often sing it live as "kiss this guy" while pointing towards his bass player Noel Redding. It's a small point but I'm a Hendrix anorak so it really irritates me.

Stephen. wrote:A good site if you like misheard lyrics... http://www.kissthisguy.com/

A favourite of mine is "I'm blue if I was green I would die" from Eiffel 65s classic

I know some people like that...

Although admittedly I also know a couple of folk who thought that song was "I would die in Aberdeen"

My favourite misheard lyric will have to be from The Police's "Canary In A Coalmine", search it out if you can because most of the time it sounds like Sting is singing Korma (I know it's coalmine but it sounds a lot like Korma):

"Your just living your life like a Canary in a korma"

Actually from that website, something similar:

Misheard "Canary In A Coal Mine" Lyrics
Larry in a coma...
Larry in a coalmine...
You lead your life like a canary in a co...
Larry in a coma...
Larry in a coma...

I don't think this happens to me. I really can't think of any examples. I do always sing the last line of the chorus of Song 2 as "is there any jam", but I know full well that's not the lyric, it just amuses me cos they said it on Buzzcocks (many moons ago).

I always hear that line as "Is that really ham?"

I may have said before, but I used to think Achy Breaky Heart (I didn't know the title at that time) said "don't telly my heart, my eggy brekky heart..."

For years I thought the line in Snow's Informer was:

"...Come with a nice young lady, intelligent yes she jungles in R.E."

Which makes no sense anyway, why would you jungle in Religious Education?

We had a discussion tonight regarding this topic. The girl I was talking to said the line was:

I'm to sexy for my nan, and too sexy for Pam.

Not: I'm too sexy for Milan, New York and Japan.

Oh how we laughed.

Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson had a huge hit with a song I still can't help thinking of as Tonight I Sellotape My Glove To You.

Sat and today are up
