How can we develop more interest in tennis in the Philippines? Aside from basketball, swimming, bowling and badminton, tennis is one sport that I truly enjoy playing as much as watching. Problem is, there are only very few tennis courts in the country. We persist in building basketball courts (my favorite sport, BTW) where height is an essential factor for success and yet Filipinos are generally not that tall. Whereas in other sports like tennis, height is not a primary consideration. I want to indulge more in playing tennis, but there's just a dearth of tennis courts around.

I'm uncertain, but would guess mailing a UK forum based around a Radio DJ is not the best approach. Try Petesampras.com or local campaigning.

it's statements like that which belittle the plight of women that are persecuted against, and attempt to gain equal rights - by making issues which are primarily NOT down to sexist issues seem like the excuse for it IS down to an issue of sexism.

this gives fodder for those who ignore feminists as people who blame every injustice on sexism, and blurs the serious issues in with the mundane.

There's never any point in trying to explain things to someone with the intelligence of a gnat.

This thread is comedy gold.

ON a serious note, i believe we can all achieve the goal of making tennis popular in the Phillipines by sending petitions to government to have more media coverage on television, newspapers, and introducing it into schools, and gymnasiums around the country.

Im so lonely.

Quite often when I come into the General forum, I don't understand what all the new threads are about since I listen at least one day behind. So it wasn't really surprising that I didn't know what "more interest in tennis" was talking about when I clicked on it. My confusion only got worse when I read...

... "whoa, this is a bit intellectual for moyles", I thought.

On deciding it must be a bot, I then noticed that the post was edited two days later? Can bots do that now? Why? And what was removed? Mod - gonna find out?

If I remember rightly, there were a couple of advertising links in and it seemed a bit longer.

That's why I usually quote a spam bot if I am the first to comment on it, just in case it gets deleted or changed

Stricktly speaking from a tennis point of view
money in tennis is not due too sexism. I think that female tennis players should be played less...

The time when female tennis players play 5 set games instead of 3 set games. That will be the day female tennis players get the same money as men.

In all other aspects of life for females. If they can equally do the job. They should not be discriminated and have equal chance as men.

When women's tennis is at the same standard as men's is when they should get paid the same.

You'd think so, but sadly no. It must be a long-running thing that's been the case for ages.
