how to reduce the serious impact that drugs have had on your life, through personal destruction and media attention - and bring a waning career to a finish.

1) appear to go mental in the press.
2) slate your producer to get out of sitcom which has become awful.
3) cash in on the spike in fame.
4) MTV fly on the wall documentary, book deals and a film : making millions.
5) saturate the media, so they become bored of you and leave you alone.
6) WINNING.

Years ago, the upper classes were permitted to enter the asylums and laugh at the mentally ill people there. They'd even poke them to get a reaction. All for entertainment. That is quite immoral by today's standards, but we're doing exactly the same at celebrities, through the media.

I think if Charlie Sheen is unstable and suffering a breakdown, the media should leave him his dignity. Yes, he's broadcasting it on Twitter, and it's hard to determine where he is mentally, but I think the media is milking him for all they can. And that is rather sad.

I don't know. I find it hard to feel sorry for a man who has continally beat women and got away with it. He's clearly * up in some way, but nobody can make a diagnosis over the internet. He's been saying silly things for years, only now people are paying attention.

I think he's a horrible man and maybe he does have problems - but he does say some funny shit.

He's also very self aware on twitter and seems to get that the whole thing is a joke.

Edit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebri ... agedy.html - more views in this vein.

You're right in saying you can't make a diagnosis online, but in the same way you can't say he's self aware and is in on the whole joke. His actions, his lifestyle and the way he's doing things is really erratic, and it's probably best to leave him be.

You make a good point.

I'm not encouraging what is happening and the media can be beyond awful, I just can't help but be amused by some of his one-liners!

I really don't care about Charlie Sheen in any way at all. I never watched Two and a Half Men so I don't give a shit that its cancelled. Why are we talking about him again?

I don't know either, he's just burst into the media spotlight again and as a result everyone is talking about him.

He's a prince among men, in a world where people are forever making pretend apologies and pretending to be repentant for their actions, and then carrying on regardless only to apologise again and again and again he's doing what he wants to do.

"What’s the cure? Medicine? Make me like them? Not gonna happen."
