The awesome "fanny". Awesome cos it's something else to the Americans entirely, but still semi-related.
So, for example, American Pie: The Wedding has the epic line "master stuck the mop in my fanny", and so conjuring up a COMPLETELY different picture this side of the Atlantic than it does over there.
And then you throw in that "fanny" is probably the most used word to describe a ned in Glasgow by people that aren't neds (unless you're posh, in which case you'd never use such language). And, curiously, vice versa! A ned would definitely call me a fanny.
Seriously, the word is brilliant. Might be my favourite word in the world.
