I read a review not long ago of the John Squire album which labelled it "guitar w*nkery" an I liked the phrase a lot although i felt it was unjustified. Well I dont know what the name for the stage up from guitar w*nkery is but the Stereophonics have found it. This album is dire. I liked all the Stereophonics previous albums although I was always a bit wary on the "rockier" songs.

They added two members who must have been rejects from The Shadows as they feel the need for guitar solos every two minutes. I actually started to like the first song but then it went on so long I was in danger of falling asleep at the wheel. If you must listen to the album try to listen to just the even numbered tracks as some of them are tolerable maybe even good (Maybe Tomorrow, Climbing The Wall).

Its a shame cos I like the Stereophonics an I will still buy the next album. I just hope they get some decent lyrics an stop arsing about.

Am I the only one who likes their new album?

It's all I've had on in the car since it came out.

i think it's quite a good album, not as good as word gets around or Performance and * but better overall than J.E.E.P which only had a few good songs. I like guitar solos IF they fit the song and in the case of some of the new phonics stuff they do!

I liked the first 2 albums, the others are shite. Local Boy in a Photograph can't be bettered and I wouldn't believe your radio is utter class.

I'm apparently going to see the Stereophonics in November.

Occording to my version of JEEP, track 9 is 'Everyday I think of money'. Track 10 is 'Maybe'.

Haven't heard loads from the new album but the stuff I have heard is good, better than JEEP by sounds of it. The best album by far is Word Gets Around for me.

I'm gonna see them in November too!!yay!! But none of their gigs can ever beat the 'Day At The Races' mini festivals thing.
